Anyone think these things work on ice for someone who doesn't want to stud? Maybe it would take the loose-ness out of the RX-1 when on hard packed roads too!!!

That's how I'll treat my next sled. Studs are great for glare ice traction, but only slow you down in snow.
On the conical lug track, the Trail Grabbers should work great. Put them on the shorter lugs according to Bergstrom's specs. You'll alot of them, like 400 or so to keep from hurting the track, but it'll be worth it. You might not lift the skis on ice, but you will be able to stop just fine!

Marc...never mind.
296 studs isn't too much for a 500! But 96 is just right What do you know about a half liter anyway, eh?
