So, another topic just beatin' to death. Haha. Transfer blocks. What to do? Going to give myself the ability to get more transfer with stock transfer rod, by removing the blocks. It has been suggested to put a barrier between the transfer linkage and rod itself. Many have tried a hose, etc. Most items get torn up quick. I will make two attempts to get this to work.

First......I will thread a bolt w/washer into the end of shaft, then dip the rod end into plasta-dip and see how that goes. If that's not tough enough....I will resort to spray in bed liner.

Just leave the shaft out too.

I just pulled the blocks, don't see the need to wrap the shaft with anything. 2000 miles on mine and still looks new.

What did you guys do, just line up the flat spot & let her rip???

With the JT 4 wheel kit you can't .You''ll hit the wheels .

So don't put the oversized wheels in. Oversize wheels do nothing for performance anyway.

I don't understand the guys going to oversize wheels. Someone is scamming them into thing they are better and a performance advantage.

I ran mine without the blocks last year for a while. Lined up the pads and the flat spot on the bar. Found that the pads (2 square parts on the transfer linkage) we’re getting bent from hitting the bar.
Ended up machining the short side of the blocks down as far as possible leaving about 1/8” before breaking through to the center. Worked very well.
Considered taking the bar right out as Knapp suggested, but worried about hitting back wheels or doing other damage.

How many running without the bar? Any damage?! Is it that much better?

not to get off topic, but I wouldn't agree that there is no benefit to having better track angles...especially if radar running, top speed on ice is the game. Larger drivers, and large rear wheels make for less rolling resistance.

IDK......just don't look right? Tabs, in Theory, should slam into adusting bolts for rear axle.
