Them hollow trihub wheels with small bearing will cause you problems sooner or later. 3 to 4000 thousand miles is the average life. 4th wheel kits will help it go longer. Our trihub kits offer heavy duty wheels with the large 6205 bearings that twice the size of stock. Larger diameter axle. Thousands of customer been happy. We have a few different kits for the 12-18's and a super duty kit for the 19's.

The biggest reasons i put on the 4 wheel kit is traction, track alignment & safety.
When you put on big miles & take backpacking trips, it's worth the money.
I've personally seen 2 fail and they did EXCELLENT maintenance.
Even my Arctic Cat dealer down street puts on 4 wheel kits to his good customers because he's seen toooooo many failures. That has to say something right there.
IF a wheel or bearing fails, it will do catastrophic damage including complete track & tunnel damage at speed. With 4 wheels you'll have 3 to protect you.
I've run 4 wheels on my Apex for years. I've seen a wheel fail on a 4 wheel kit & he rode home. I've seen a wheel fail on a 3 wheel kit fail & he didn't. $2000 of damage & lucky to be alive.
My JT kit is OVERKILL and looks amazing at 7800 miles. I know of 3 guys that have over 12,000 miles on this kit & they have NEVER changed a bearing.
This is the ONLY thing i haven't worried about on this sled.
Just Peace of Mind for me at $250.

If cat had used a 25mm axle and the larger bearings we wouldn't be talking about this. The tri-hub is an excellent design IMO, just poorly implemented. Those 2 small mediocre 20mm bearing just arn't up to the task, that is a lot of load for just 2 bearings. I made my tri-hub rebuildable by cutting the plastic out on the inside but needed to change them every season as they got "gritty". I have the JT 2 wheel kit now.

Agree, they were asking a lot out of those 2 little bearings.
