Tri-Hub Failure

These pics may encourage those on borrowed time to surely make a replacement.

Sorry for the loss, that sucks. The tri-hub itself looks like it held up well. Can't tell in your pics but is there any grease left on those bearings? If it is dry, that it is why it failed.

I have 10000 miles on and no problems yet but I did put a add on 4th wheel kit when new. Hopefully it will last the rest of the season u guys have me a little worried now.

That's encouraging miles. Have you greased yours to help it last that long?

Tri-hub held up, problem is the crappy bearings they use from the factory. I'm installing the J&T tri-hub replacement and 4th wheel kit. All parts have much better bearings which was the problem here. They also offer a stealth big wheel kit which has 4 independent wheels and upgraded bearings vs. factory.

My bearings were dry by the time I was able to inspect them

we have 4500km (about 2700miles) on ours(2 sleds) with the extra wheels on the outside and original tri hub no issues(no grease untouched)

4th wheel kit is supposed to reduce wear by 50% on main tri-hub so good call on that. However, factory tri-hub has insufficient bearings IMO.

Did the J&T 4 wheel kit right from the start plus i went with the larger wheels and have over 2900 miles so far with no issues...anybody need a brand new tri-hub that i pulled from mine before its first ride?

I see a common thread here, Tri hub failure, cheap Made In China Bearing, Jack Shaft failure, cheap Made In China Bearing.
Maybe someone needs to go into TRF and find the Bean Counter that insists on cheap Made In China Bearings, fire him and use his salary to buy better bearings, Problem solved.

Am I to understand that none of these issues would be covered under warranty if I experience any of the above failures???? There has been no mention of it! I find it a little disconcerting that this is even considered acceptable for such low mileage. I'm all for modding your sled if you WANT to, but you should not HAVE to in order for it to be dependable and not leave you broke down needing repairs. What's the purpose of a dependable motor if the component parts surrounding it are prone to failure? Does anyone else feel the same way?

no worries bud!!! we have 2 sleds with no issues (over 4000km and counting)but failures do happen just like anything else!!!

I suspect it would be covered under warranty but I didn't want the same OEM garbage bearings back in my sled. Once they fail you can no longer drive the sled so I didn't pursue the warranty avenue given that I wanted the upgrade and I have a 4 day trip this weekend in which the dealer would not have had the sled repaired by then.

Here is pics of the J&T 8 inch permanate fix with that should run many years with no maintenance. Big bearings with anodized larger axle.
