just wondering after all the tri hub worry this summer what the failure rate is?

I have 800 miles of no issues so far.

I have no failure on either on my Vipers yet... but I changed it on the XTX since I had the skid out. LTX has 4000miles and my XTX is 2000.

2,000-2,200 miles on two Vipers LTXs and no issues. I did add the Yamaha 4th rear wheel kit to both sleds as a preventative measure and I carry the shorter bolt and washers removed to install the kit should one of the outer wheel bearings fail so I can remove it and replace with stock parts if ever required!

4400 miles and my trihub went out. I do have the 4th wheel kit but did not have it on yet when the trihub went out. Wish I would have. Cat/Yamaha dealer up in MI where we were replaced under warranty. The trihub is lighter and stronger with more support than 2 individual wheels. The problem comes in because AC decided to use crappy bearing that are not replaceable and when 1 side goes out, it wears the other side quickly too. Online parts fiche says that the 14 and 15 are replaced with new part numbers. I hope for 16 AC either uses better bearings and/or make them replaceable.

3400 miles mine was getting stiff. Replaced with 4 wheel kit.

I replaced mine at about 1600 miles the bearings were flat spotted. I believe the conditions you ride in has a lot to do with durability.

The new Tri-hubs have replaceable bearings. At least that's an improvement.

Came across this pic on Arctic Cat site of a tri-hub failure

I have the billet 3 wheel kit coming from OFT for my peace of mind

Next year is when I expect to see the problem becoming bigger. Just like Cats, it took three years for the failures to become wide spread problem. And now it even bigger each year.

Yes I agree except the 12 cats failed in less than 1 season! Was always interesting coming in to dealer on Monday to see the horror!

Your 4 wheel kit is awesome!

I changed mine out after asphalt season.....felt very gritty and wasn't going to trust it out on the trail. Cheap bearings in the tri-hub. After the trip Mark and I had from Minnesota, into Ontario, then Manitoba and back across the top of Minnesota.....I think we lost 5-6 rear wheels in our group.

Mark took care of 3 in one day.....LMAO ;)!

5000 miles on mine as of now. I have the skid out right now for a new shock, checked the tri-hub and its still in great shape, spins free and no play. I must note that at 3200 miles i added the 2 outside wheels (OSP Kit). Going to keep running it for now.

Buddy lost his last weekend , I believe 4500 miles
