Can anyboby out there tell me conditions in these areas? We are starting in Minden and want to head north towards Sudbury, Timmins. How is the snowand trail conditions. I know Killarney is out of the question. French River bridges??

I can't speak for the French River area since I haven't been on those trails this year, but the trails in Sudbury were OK at best last week. I was out of town this weekend but did take a short scoot on Long Lake (in Sudbury) Sunday night when I got back and it was surprisingly good. It was warm in Sudbury this weekend and the trails that I did see from the road on the way home look to be pretty bare near the crossings. The good news is they are forecasting snow here this week for the first time in a long time (10cm tomorrow, 10 more on Wed, then 1-3 cm for each day until next Monday).

Cheers,

Greg

Went through North Bay about 8 days ago. Trails were very poor to very good, too bad you can't just ride where they are good, but just passing through as you know. No real snow since then, so snow is vanishing quickly, especially where they face south and have bare spots. Conditions overall in my opinion were generally fair. If you go expect the worst, so if they are better you won't be disappointed. We need more snowww!

- I was in the Minden/Haliburton area a week ago today and it was decent.
- We're supposed to be getting hammered with snow starting this afternoon.

- By the lake in Hali...

Nice pics. I'm sure I'll pass the gate in the last photo. I hope the snow they are calling for actually falls and puts a nice coat of powder down for the week. I hope to get 1500 miles. Thanks for the input guys.

I just did a circle yesterday from Timmins to Iroquois Falls then to Cochrane and back to Timmins, the trails were good outside the towns but were a little rough passing threw them, I ran into a couple guys from Niagara maybe it's someone on here, they took a pic of my sled after something in the chaincase let go outside of Cochrane, hopefully they don't give the pic to the guys from Snow Goer magazine who were staying at the Igloo place with them :o|

Sudbury 2-4 in , French River 4-6 in , Minden 6-12 in , Powassen 2-4 in .
2in new , wet snow in Bracebridge , today.
Thin , mild and rocky this past weekend.

Is French river bridges on west side of 400 or 69 (not sure which it is) acessable from Minden area? Taking a fellow along with me that wants to see them.

The best trails are on the north side of Sudbury and towards Northbay.

Went from Espanola to Kukagami lake taking the C trail and it was awsome past Coniston. From Kukagami took the area C206 to the 77, then the 71 to the C trail north, then hooked up on the C111D headed west, and those trails are amazing as well besides from Whanipitae to the C which wasnt even groomed once this year.

You wouldnt be dissapointed taking the C to timmins or to Shining tree, that trail is superb.

the guys from Niagara Falls I met up with came from Shining Tree and said the trails were nice up in that area, that'll be my next trip after I fix the sled which turned out to be one of the inner bearings that let go and took out the chain somehow

400 hwy ends north of Barrie , becomes 69 hwy to Sudbury.

The French and Pickerel are approx 1 hr south of Sudbury on the west side of 69 hwy. ( only 2-6 in snow there last weekend)

Minden is approx 8 hrs south east by sled from the bridges.
