I have been considering a two way system for a while but have not really looked into it too much. I have a modular helmet as does my brother who would be wearing the other one and some others in our group. Does anyone have experience with any system? Specifically with modular helmets? Any system seem to work better than others? Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

Don't have a modular helmet but we have been very happy with the Collett 900 platinum in both full face and MX style helmets

My worry is how does the mic fit into the modular. Is it a problem? How does it sound at the other end?

You need a throat mic!!
These things work great! Here's a link! Good price too!

I take it you have used these throat mics, I am assuming you wear it under you face mask? Also, with a helmet on does the helmet push up against it or make it pinch or bind on your neck?

Does the throat mic work with the Colletts or other brand?
big-ry-ry-- I read your post before I put mine up. I was looking for opinions on some of the options that are out there not just a cheaper version. I appreciate your help. Thanks.

I have collett sno phones they are fantastic. I will not ride without anymore. I do not however use a modular helmet but one of my riding buddies does and he does not seem to have issues

I had used communicators for many years. I have had Chatterboxes (two versions) and Collet's 900s. I also have owned many other portable radios over my 30+ years of Ham Radio Operation.
In my view, the current offerings are not worth the effort. They all are too short ranged. The Mic sensativity varies too much with temperature. The transmitters frequently lock up just from sled and wind noise. The only good thing about them is I can tell my wife is still close behind me by listening to her cussing at me for going too fast! That is if I turn the Mic sensativity on mine down to zip, and if you can call that "good!" I've seen too many good radios to put up with the junk they are selling to us.

The collett with the Bv2S works great, nicer clarity because of the mic mounting.
I agree longer range would be better.

Colletts are our group has used for years. They take a little bit of tweaking as far as sensitivity to the mics, especially if you have pipes and a can but once in they are great. Yes , range isn't all that great but we have six units and they are spread thru out the line of riders, so everyone can get the messages.
Definately help when it is crowded with other sleds around.

I have had no problems with feedback or any sort of unwanted noise with my sno phones. I can hear just like someone talking on the phone. I to have tried others and had no luck. I was really not sure I wanted to spend the money on the sno phones for another worthless porduct, man I just couldn't get over how great they are. My range is about a quarter too half mile. Which I think is plenty. How far apart to you normally ride from each other?

we get about a mile. Some guys like to motor- some like to hang back. We love ours. Like you said about the snofone- our colletts are crystal clear and we have the groomer beacon built in which is nice.
