For Sponsors could do a thing like I have done with the car. I have put Fans names on the car for 5 bucks a name. Let's fans be part of the team. I would put up 5 bucks.

That would work well.

this could also include free admission/discount to a set # of events that the team attends as another perk.

i also agree that there should be some event(s) for the "average" rider. something where you show up with what you got, because its all you got. and have fun. my .02

I dont like race teams, I dont like sponsorships and I dont like having specilty shops race against trails sleds.

What I would be more interested in is setting a new standard with little rules and some basic classes to keep the phazers and the boosted apex seperate LOL

Make it informal like the radar event on rib lake that tom does every year.

You could do 1/4 miles racing, cross country racing, whatever. Idea is to run what you brung and have more fun and take the competitiveness out of it let people that have trail sleds do something that has some compeition to it but not in a race scene where you have to be sooo dang good you get slaughtered everytime and you no longer have fun.

Maybe do 4-5 race events a year at different spots to get people local to that area. No registration, rules just dudes having fun with a trial ride afterwards and a few stops at the local pubs.

I do this nw with my group on trips but it would be fun to do a all TY 'event', get someone with a radar and maybe someone that has some land that can offer the cross country event, etc. All from the members of TY.

I think the talk here was about cross country racing. Improvement to the trail sleds come from racing efforts. Updates to the front torque arm on the phazer are a result of racing. I know some parts on the nytro have been tested via cross country racing. The reason sponsor are needed is the costs to go racing in a full cross country season approach 10K or so, not including the sled.

AT least in Cross Country if you sled meets the rules you can RUN whatever you want. I have seen old SX chassis run before. Problem with run whatever you want as a race is the insurance is through the roof. Rules and regulations have alot to do with insurance.

USCC has done a great job making classes for almost ALL sleds to compete

I attached some shots from USCC competition last year

Tekvest Teather shin gaurds, NO ORANGE ON SLED . Enter sport or Semi-pro and have fun!!!

You can rent tekvest and orange hemlet cover from uscc. Read the rules. Suggest sport, 85 or trail categories if you fit the equipment restrictions. Mostly just need to add a tether to the yamahas.
