Yamaguy,
How are you rpms and mid range with the stock secondary spring? It's a white correct?
I don't watch the RPMs much to be honest, it's hard look at the gauges when running around in the woods and hills. As Nos-Pro said I was on the rev limiter a lot at the time with the red spring and top speed was 75ish, clutches were dirty from 8jp dust and belt was used. The only thing that was changed was the secondary spring back to the OEM pink spring and its been there ever since. This year I have switched to the 8dn belt, secondary machined to eliminate coil bind and the same pink OEM pink spring installed. I am very happy with the setup now and it will still pull 96mph if needed and thats pretty good for the low gearing on the XTX LE and a 2.25 track. Shagman and Nos-Pro , Thanks for fixing my sled

Glad Ya got it figured out. Is the pink spring stiffer than the Ulmer Red? Just curious.

What is the difference between the pink and ulmers red? I'm on the limiter a lot with his setup. It might be worth it just to switch out and try with how easy it is to change secondary springs.

I tried it and it most defiantly helps! I ran it on 6-1 and it gets up to 90 mph a lot faster on 4" of powder than the red spring did. I do not hit the limiter anymore when just cruising around 30-35 and punching it. From a dead stop and punching it it still hits the limiter (on powder and crusty ice underneath), but most defiantly not as hard as the red spring did. If i went to 6-2 what would it change? Would it only effect back shift and top rpm? sorry if that's a dumb question this is my first time ever messing with clutching. I did notice on the red spring most of the paint on the outside of the spring was worn/scratched off with only 500 miles on it. Im wondering if the red spring was binding causing us to hit the limiter?

More twist in the secondary spring will more than likely cause you to hit the limiter more often, better backshift this way tough.
Less twist will help keep you off the limiter but it may cause the sled to backshift poorly. I would try 3-3 or 2-3 setting(less twist) and see if it keeps you off the limiter, or better yet add a couple grams in the heal of your weight. Adding weight is probably the way to go. Springs always get scratched not a big deal.

If your running a turbo then I would think you want it at 6-2, I have very good results at 6-2 with a turbo. Also depends on how you ride , trail or powder? If your red spring has the paint wore off that kinda sounds like a coil bind issue? Maybe one of the clutch experts can chim in

This spring has about 1500 miles and has got the paint wore off pretty bad, that's normal. Ulmers kits have Adjustable weights, if you are hitting the limiter down low just add a couple of washers closest to the pivot point on each weight. Each washer is one gram.
I'm more of a 60-40 rider mostly trail with some off trail drift banging. Ya I've already changed my weights from 2-0-3 to 4-0-1 with the red spring. The weights only helped a little bit on bottom but changed rpm up top 200-300 rpm (I'm right around 8800-8950 wot with the red spring not sure with pink spring). I will have to try 5 or 6-0-1

There's been many cases of Yamaha clutches that bind up due some slag left on the clutches from factory. Nospro has a couple videos in the FAQ regarding this as well as clutch cleaning. I had a cat 7000 do the same exact thing, rocket to 85 then it's like u put the brakes on and it would not gain, even in perfect conditions. Dealer took the primary clutch apart and cleaned it in the places it was tight and went out that day and went 99mph, my guess is your issue is with the clutch itself and not the clutch kit.
I know this is an old post, but I cannot seem to find the posts with videos on the slag on the clutches. Dont suppose you happen to have a link?
