Since for me the season is starting to wind down, I'm actually getting some time to dink with the sled and there's a few issues I'd like to address before next year.
-Skis
Frankly, which work the best for this platform (05 Warrior)? A bunch of my buddies all swear by CA Pro skis but they're awfully pricey, it would be like $500 to swap those in. Bunch of people on this site talk about Simmons skis, but I can't find anyplace that sells them.
-Bogey wheels
When I had the rear skid out to replace the w-arm (and every single bushing in the suspension too), I noticed that a couple of the wheels didn't spin straight, they would wobble slightly as they rotated, and the rubber is about to let go on a couple so I figure I'll replace them at the end of the year.
While I'm at it, are there any worthwhile wheel kits (bigwheels) or kewl custom wheels available for this sled?
-Rear suspension
The stock rear skid just doesn't work for me. I've stiffened the stock spring up as much as it goes and this thing still bottoms out, I only weigh 180 so it's not like there's a ton of load on it. So what's the best option to beef it up? Are better shocks/springs the answer, or is a suspension swap a better route? How will the sled take a 2-point mounting as opposed to the stock 3-point, as in are just the big top carrier brackets and the w-arm strong enough to last?
Thanks for any tips.

If you want to love your sled add a ZX2 to the rear, you can always keep it and not let it go with the sled so its easier to justify the cost. Seriously every skid i have ridden is a DOWN GRADE to the ZX2 wow.
I got my C&A skis for like $250 over the summer, watch for deals about July! I now have simmons, the C&A's carved a hard trail better but the simmons float better and turn easier.

Those ZX2's are the plastic ones right? How have they been holding up to use? Something just doesn't sit right about an all-plastic rear skid but it must work.
What do the prices run? I'd need a 136" model. Do these skids just drop-in like the factory original, or is there modding necessary?
Thanks for the input.

Yes its the composite skids, if your nervous about composite replace your skis and go back to steel ones.
Not sure on the price for the 136" proably around $1500 maybe. You buy a mounting kit and install is cake. Some mods needed but very easy to do with basic tools. Feels like riding on a cloud, jumping, landing, stutter bumps, once broke in this baby does it all.

Looked into it, the 136" runs right about $1500, the 121" is about $300 less. Either way, you also need a $150 mounting kit so it's not a cheap venture. The airwave is the same price and I've heard a lot of good things about that as well.

The ZX2 in a 121" is what I have. Can't compare any other suspension to this thing. Really its that good. 100% changed the sled all for the better. honestly you have to ride one to appreciate it, not just a trip around the block but a good 100 miles, you will not want to get off.

Kinger how much do you weight? I also heard that AD Boivin is putting out softer springs for the ZX2! Would this be a good idea to get for a lighter rider?

You know its a different situation then I can describe, my viper was stiff, no question. This skid is stiff and soft. In the stutter bumps below 20 mph it sort of bounces over the bumps making it seem like its stiff but its not harsh at all like my old viper above 20 I feel a little movement up and down but again its not harsh and less pronounced then below 20 and above 40 its like a cloud I feel nothing.
Now go hit some jumps and land, its like you have never ending suspension and everything is soft, frozen drifts get soaked up, hard landings where the sled got off angle in the air land so nice and soft. If I wanted anything it would be the slow speed stutter bump handling but really its not harsh at all and maybe a little rebound adjustment could help this but I dont need it.
All you want to do is ride your sled, because I am still searching for the bump or jump that will make me cringe in pain and its just not there so far. I wish winter wasn't over!!!
Liek that honda commercial "I wanna ride I wanna ride I wanna ride!" Thats me!

Good to know kinger appreciate your response we still have about 3Ft of snow have you noticed any wear of the zx2 seeing as its maintence free? They say its self lubricating something must wear eventually!!

Zero wear and zero maint, another benny of the skid. Hyfax looks new after 1800 miles. My sled is just fog and treat the gas and pack her away for next year!
