I have a 2010 XTX Nytro, And am looking at installing the upgraded relays.
Which relays need upgrading on my model? (Fuel pump, Starter, etc..)
Could someone tell me which part numbers I need to order? Thanks
I found this, I believe it is the Red Solid state fuel pump relay. Is this the one that will fit on my sled?

Thanks

Some have replaced all the relays except the headlight, which is different. Starter uses a solenoid so no need there. I replaced the fuel pump and load control relays. I'd say the fuel pump relay is the most problematic when cold because it is only getting battery power (12V) but once the sled is running, the stator is providing more power (14V) and is able to make the other relays work despite the cold.
And that is the correct number for the solid state relay.

Just for clarification, all the Yamaha sleds use a starter "relay" not a solenoid. They basically do the same thing but internally are different. To prevent confusion it's best to call it a "starter relay" as described by Yamaha. The Fuel pump relay is the most problematic and if it fails the sled won't start. The other relays will not leave you stranded if they fail. I don't believe the voltage level is the reason the other relays tend to be less of a problem. I've had many reports of the load control relay also acting up even after the sled starts but eventually starts working . If I had to guess I'd say the engine heat tends to help. If it is a voltage issue with the mechanical relay the SSR will be less of an issue because they use less power to activate them. They are also more resistant to moisture and temperature fluctuations. I'd get three SSR relays and replace the fuel, load, and fan relays.

okay, thanks. So I will purchase that solid state relay for the fuel pump (part number as above). To replace these relays, do I just unclip the old ones, clip in the new ones and off I go?
Could you possibly direct me to the proper load, and fan relays to purchase as well (Solid state). I would appreciate it. Or does that one relay (8GN-81950-00-00) work as a relacement for all three (fuel, fan, load).
What does the load relay do?
Cheers

You'll be glad you spent the $10.42 on a cold morning and your sled starts right up. I have never had my old relay fail but I will be replacing the fuel pump relay before this winter.
The red relay works for those 3 relays. Make sure you get the color of the wires, as e order of the relays varies from sled to sled, no particular order.

Okay, thank you. Where is a good source to purchase them? Im in canada. Will my local dealer have them most likely?
And so I just need to purchase Thee of the same replays (8GN-81950-00-00 ) . Confused as to what you mean by

If you look at a oarts fiche they show the relays in a certain order, that order is not the same on all nytro's. For example the first relay in he diagram might show it being the fuel pump relay, but in your sled the fuel pump relay might be the third relay back. So you need to know what colour wires go to each specific relay and you are replacing 3 of the 4 and need to know which 3. It's a yamha part, so local dealer is your best bet

Here is the sticky Grizz did. Remember the relays can be in different positions so verify by wiring color which is in this sticky. http://www.ty4stroke.com/threads/fault-codes-relay-fuse-location-wire-diagram-diagnostics.83992/

All 3 use the same amps then?
Any idea what it is?
Thanks.

I believe the SSR is rated for 10 amps. It has the spec on it's top. It can be used for all 3 locations without issue.
The load control relay is for lighting

Any need to disconnect the battery for this? Probably an obvious question, but thought I'd ask.
So basically you just need to find the solid green, black and yellow wire ( headlight ) leave that be and change the other 3?

No need to disconnect battery. Just turn the key off.
