As some may know there has been some issues/discussion of upper gear bushing wear in the chain case. This causes problems with keeping the chain case in forward gear. Some have tried to drill holes in the gear to get more oil, some have overfilled the case. I have a 2014 Viper. When I changed my gearing after @3200 miles I filled my chain case with synthetic 75-90 and a bit of Lucas oil treatment.
This is my stock upper gear bushing after @3200 miles with stock fluid.
This is the replacement gear after @2800 miles with synthetic fluid and Lucas oil treatment
It seems to me that the combination of Lucas and synthetic fluid made a pretty significant difference in bushing wear. I added this same combo to my new Sidewinder.
