I say it again, without fear of retribution. I like the ECP concept, I don't like the air filters (many will agree) for snow related motorsports and I don't like having the Evac gasses and entrained oil vapors being brought back into the carbs.

I have no problem with the filters and snow ingestion. I do not run the EVAC kit for the very reasons you mention so I guess we agree on at least that.

yamaha Put different profile cams in the 06's as well as new ignition timing possibly compression to come up with the 150hp for 06,if you want more slotted cam gear's bump the comp more and while your there clean up the head nothing too drastic otherwise just ride it.

No that explains the air box and the foam for snow dust etc Wow up until now I thought you where thinking. You cant just run the carbs open to the air a K&N filters are some of the least restricive on the market. When you use an ineficient air box and filters work better its an IMPROVEMENT some air boxes can not be IMPROVED upon.

I agree. the airbox has a function that the filters are not designed for, and that is noise reduction. I definitely agree that the airbox is more restrictive than the filters. The stacks would only be an improvement to the filters as far as restrictions, but again you have even MORE noise, and no good method to deal with snow ingestion.

I wish I had a dyno or could work for Freddie I would love to mess with this stuff all the time. I thought Freddie did some testing with Velocity stacks and they didnt pan out as well as the filters did? You may want to search for it on the boards. Sometimes things can be made to work better but not enough to pay for the time spent monkeying with it in the first place. There must be about a million hours of R&D invloved in finding the right slide speed holes, jetting, pilot jet springs, air fuel mixture screws etc and so on. This of course is along with my other dream job as test driver for Suzuki race program or Lambroghini LOL
