campsleder said:I tightened up the limiter straps1" made a big differance ion handeling also ! My hayfax wore out in 1600 km the first season break the new ones in right they ware fast then stop.
Does it matter if if the low snow wheels are on the inside or outside ?
I don't think it really think it makes a difference inside or out except to try and balance them to prevent distorting the rails. Most people put them on the outside, some on the inside. It may be just the appearance for those putting them on the inside.
So far, I have installed the two sets of low snow wheels (on the outside), 4 Doo idlers (front outside and middle moved to the outside). I'm now in the process of clipping the track (3 hours just for one side!) and I will move the limiter strap up one hole since I also find it doesn't steer well under power so this should also move more weight to the skis. I'll also replace the two rear outside idlers but I have to order two more mounts.
I'll post pics once it's all done.

All Done!
Here's what my idler changeover looks like. If you look at my first post pics, the idlers I circled have been moved to the outside of the rail and actually looks good. All of them have the Doo two bolt mounts. The original front ones I effed up when I tried to grind off about 2mm and weren't straight anymore so I had to use a Doo mount there too. Because of that, I have to leave the torsion spring block in the 2up position, which is OK since I am on the hefty side. I used Kimpex Pro 5.25" wheels, which comes to about 133.35mm. I didn't want to go with 135mm because I am scared to exerting too much pressure on the rails when running on hard surfaces or bumps. To me, this is just right beyond the 130mm stock wheels.
After only 200Km, I haven't noticed any wear on the hyfax. Still early in the season though. If the wear is still not acceptable, I'll probably change the remaining inner idlers after having the suspension mounts machined properly

Re: All Done!
I like what you've done there...it looks pretty much like what I am doing to mine as well.
I too, find it unacceptable to just swap out hyfax every couple hundred miles just because Yamaha for some reason failed to engineer the idler system correctly.
Instead I choose to re-engineer it to last for thousands of miles (hopefully), just like the engine will.
My skid is a Mountain skid (162"), but the suspension set up is the same as yours.
I have all my mounts out for machining right now...the stock yamaha mounts for the fwd outers (2 each), fwd inners (2 each) and two sides of the suspension pivot, as well as the middle inners (2 each) and outers (2 each) in front of the large aft wheels. The aft 4 I mentioned are all polaris mounts.
I am having 1 1/2 mm's machined from all of these positions to compensate for the wider width bearings that come with the larger 135mm wheels.
I also have a Marginal Snow kit from Yamaha, the two small wheels, to install at the front curve in the rails to eliminate wear there as well.
I know this sounds extreme, but looking at the two Polaris's I having sitting beside it in the garage, there will be the same amount of idlers on my yamaha as my Poo's and they are only 136 inchers!! Of course they hardly ever show any hyfax wear either.
I'll post pics when I get my mounts back from the machinist.

Hopefully it works well for you. Honestly though I don't like the look - too many visible wheels makes it look like the old boogie wheel suspension - but that's just my opinion.

It's either this or changing slides mid-season (or more). Another option would be to put the small front wheels inboard of the rails to sorta hide them. Apart from those, the only extra visible wheel is the middle one that was moved from inboard to outboard.
I don't mind the look since I don't see them while riding
