Video of the GYTR Shock

well in the real cold, -30 and below they bite

So, once in the last 3 years :).

That's actually almost true though...I think I only rode once this winter anywhere close to -30. I honestly didn't notice any difference with the shocks but I wasn't looking either.

Great video and explanation!
I just purchased an 08 Vector RS GT 40th and I am reading like a madman trying to learn as much about this sled as I can, especially about the suspension and seeing this video has by far been the best explanation so far!
Thanks for sharing ;)!

P.S. just wondering if you can supply more info on spring pre-load?
I am not sure where to start as I don't understand it entirely?

I weigh about 190-200lbs so about 210-215 fully dressed give or take.

They do build good shocks like this one. $1000 each
Where can you find that shock for $1000?
I have never seen them for under $1500(used $1200)

Are there any links/pics about setting up the middle shock which shows the 3 different clip positions?
I am curious on where mine is set?

great video. i think with these shocks, GYTR, its best to loosen up the spring pre load quite a bit to level/lower the front end then do your comp and reb adjustments from the standard settings??

Excellent job on the video! :jump: I always run my compression and rebound setting in the "middle" range and spring preload just "hand tight". I love the ride!! :rocks: Thanks again, Chuck

thanks for the tip. gonna adjust mine today. planning to head to wellston, MI in 1 week. you near there? snow amount?!!

Have you done anything else to your suspension other than the spring height adjustment?

I believe my whole sled is set to factory specs and I am a bit concerned lowering the spring tension on the fronts and not doing anything else in the rear, will lowering the springs to hand tight or 1 turn past hand tight have adverse affects on the rest of the sled?
(I have ridden this sled yet)

How does the shock react with compression half way and rebound all out? I have been thinking of going to float 2s cause I have removed my sway bar on my nytro. I have been trying to find a happy medium with this set up but have not had a lot of seat time since I have been working on the road the last couple of years.
