Well I took a little video of the weird noise I have been hearing from my viper. Put the first 250 miles on it over the weekend, and It did not make this noise at all, I just heard it the last day when we went for a little boot around the yard before loading up. It doesn't sound right at all, but am not sure what could even be wrong. The dealers to busy to look at it this week, but I need it fixed by next weekend since I have a big sled trip all booked!

The rattle noise throughout the whole video is what I was referring to when driving around at low speeds like that. I assumed it wasn't normal since it never sounded that ratttly and terrible until the other day.

I hear it. Sounds like two pieces of metal rattling against each other. Not sure what that is. Does it happen at idle or only when moving?

It sounds fine when idling and I only hear that when moving.
I hear something but I don't think its motor. Check your chain case adjuster 1st then look into skid. My old RX adjuster backed out and prior to loosing it all together it sounded a bit like that. I adjusted mine at new and at 500 miles was fine at 1600 was 3 turns loose.

Checked the chaincase tension bolt and it wasn't loose, couldn't spin the bolt with my fingers. Might try adjusting the chain tension when I get home from work and see if that makes a difference.

I looked at the clutches and they seem to be fine, they do sound a little louder then they were. The sled will be dropped off at the dealership tomorrow so they can look at it. I know the secondary has play because it floats, but should it have play rotating it clockwise or counterclockwise?

Does the sound go away at higher speeds? Mine had the same noise at lower speeds but disappears at higher speeds or I can't here it due to wind noise.
I'd be interested to know what dealer says. I think it's a rattle in the clutch which is typical for yamaha. I will be doing break-in maintenance and let you know if mine goes away after adjustments.

My clutches seem louder than the Nytro. But it may be cause of the different panel vents.. definitely louder at slow speed and "clears" up as speed increases..

Brand new belt on mine.

Tough to tell with vid. I do remember how my clutch was so quiet and got the familiar Yamaha clutch rattle very soon after new. Especially noticeable when next to a cat. You are doing right thing. The mechanics at dealer will know.If they say its normal Ride on.

I thought it was the exhaust shield....but Yamaha06 is good to go according to his dealer. Mine is broke right now and makes the same noise.
