I just completed the stingray airbox mod and also installing 21/41 gears into my 2014 RTX. I don't remember there being as much engine noise as there is now prior to these mods. I can tell you that I did not take the vertical Riser all the way down to the bottom of the air box like the Stingray Mod shows and I am getting a noise that sounds like intake noise but gets louder as the sled transitions from cold to hot temps. I read all of the engine noise posts and don't seem to find anything that relates close to what I'm experiencing. Does anybody have any ideas as to where the noise may be coming from and how to remedy it? I did have a cracked header that I have taken care of. It was not the header that was making the noise as I had suspected. Could the change of gears and chain be causing this noise? I turned the chain tension bolt in to slightly finger tight and then back that off a turn and a half per the tech manual. Seems to be loudest between 7600 and 7900 RPM or around 60 to 65 miles an hour cruising speed.

My viper is definitely louder since the air box mod. A much deeper tone. I kinda like it. Just assumed more flow, more power, more noise. Not nearly as loud as a can.

It is definitely a louder growl but not louder than a can. I would agree it is deeper by gets loud between 7600 to 7900 rpm which is cruising speed so it can get somewhat annoying. would not taking the riser all the way down to the bottom of the box add to the noise?
