How much did it cost for the heat exchanger upgrade?

I paid $80 something last year from the dealer. I nstalled it myself.

I played guineapig for Yamaha so they gave me the (small) exchanger and installed it for free. I got it before it even got a part#. They asked me one question; ride the sled and tell us if it works (I had overheating problems). It did cure my problem.

As you can see my original protectors (3/4"hifax) were not thick enough .

What did u guys do to get the rear cooler pipes in the tiny holes??? Or did u inlarge them?

JDMCRX - You have to enlargen the hole on one side to get out the stock cross tube, when done the cooler it easily installed.

Have any of you that put the heat exchanger and guards on your warrior noticed the guards wearing your track?

I still get stud hits on the exhanger and I have noticed the guards are pulling the lugs off.

You have to extend you tunnel protection further back and over the heat exchanger to protect it against stud hits. With tunnel protectors going all the way to the back of the tunnel, pulling track lugs is avoided. I still have studs hitting the rear heat exchanger but nothing to worry about, it just barely hits the cooling fins, it can happen if I land hard on the tail at WOT. I made my protectors of plastics, rubbing marks on the tracks are hardly noticeable.

i just picked up my pioneer aftermarket exchanger from richie rich and i will be getting to that next weekend. really looking forward to seeing how this goes!

Mine is about the same. But nothing to worry about cause it is still a long way until the studs are hitting the cooler core itself, damage is only on the cooling fins as far as I can see from your picture.
