Anyone wash a newer style yami jacket? I wash the liners but the outside is dirty. Is has the Recco magnet thing. I would follow tag but wondered if I would loose any effectiveness with wind and water repellency. Thanks

No you should be fine. I have washed various brands of jackets and bibs with no issues. If the tag is there just follow the steps, the manufacturer usually tests the products they produce and label them accordingly.

Go easy on the soap, and no softener. I use my hunting clothes wash soap.

If it has grease on it use contact cleaner on it and wash lite on soap 2 rinses an if it needs to be recoated the best is 303 fabric guard for high tech fabrics.

Get nikwax Tech wash and nikwax spray, you will be all good and your garment will be better than new..I got mine on amazon..if you use normal detergent you are washing away the wind and water repellency, do not put in dryer either..

Even gore-tex and similar products need some help now and then to be able to hold water an wind out.
