One at dealer failed exactly like NosPros. Temp guage was not a accurate reading of what was actually going on. This happened with the new motor in a 2019 7000. Never saw it on older Nytro style motor. Imagine they changed something for the worse once again.
So what's the fix here? Are there better parts available? Mines always had an issue with running hot in marginal conditions while my brothers doesn't seem to have any problem at all.

I don't know that we need to sound the alarm bells just yet. Given how many Winders/SRX/Tcats are on the snow, this seems like a fairly isolated issue.
The purpose of my post is just to share information - if someone else has these symptoms and comes to the site searching for answers, they'll have something to consider.

Seems that the pumps from all 3 cylinders from 2005 to 2017 and are the same, although the part number has been updated
Then they arent the same. Yamaha never changes a part number unless a change has been made. Now the question becomes when? If it was changed after 2017 then thats good and could be solution. If between 16 and 17 thats not good since thats when this new motor came out.Seems that the pumps from all 3 cylinders from 2005 to 2017 and are the same, although the part number has been updated
Another issue with same symptoms is the radiator cap. Have seen a few leaking. Will blow coolant out of bottle even though not overheating.

Hello There guys I am new to this forum I actually joined here at 5 am because I wanted to thank you for all the information that you put on here. I am just like all of you I work insanely hard all summer and winter LOL and couldn't wait to go for a ride we have had no snow at my house which is completely depressing but other parts of the world are on fire so I figure they have bigger problems. Trailer to Quebec we were heading for chaboumaou I went across a lake between Louvicourt and Senneterre yes I was doing what you buy a Sidewinder for and let off the gas near shore and BAM 130C instant I mean instant. I thought wholly crap get some fluff and cool her down but no cool down it finally gave a shower of steam and coolant I let it cool down and right back up so currently gonna try to make new friends today and see if I can rent a truck or anything like that. My sled although I love the look like the ride and handling has been somewhat of a lemon my very first ride I went around my house and down the driveway and SD26 alarm comes on turned out the TURBO was seized solid got it fixed under warranty. 2nd ride up in La Sarre had ROV freeze it burst the oil sight line and caught on fire burned my boot and brand new that morning FXR pants we had 3 of us throwing snow to out it out this might be where i went wrong LOL 4th ride water pump is likely I am mechanic for 20 years or more this was our cold hands on side of trail diagnosis I really appreciate reading someone else had it too because I'm sure today the dealer hasn't heard of it and I'm the only one. After fighting HARD and my dealer Parkway in Collingwood rattling them at HQ I got reimbursement for my pants and extra year warranty. I learned from this site all the little things that happen I blew my belt with zero warning last year I had BOP shield there saved the day and later learned better machine about 2mm off secondary. I learned better put guards in to protect them little hoses in tunnel. I learned better get shaft savers and all kinds of things today I learned better get a water pump lol I rented my machine to a rapper named Drake for his music video WAR it's terrible music but I should have had him sign it maybe some young girl would buy it off me First post ever and I thank you all here

This is the first I have heard of a water pump issue. I asked my mechanic about it and he said a mutual friend has gone through two already and he has a 17 with 3,500 miles. I hope this is not the norm. He sled has a mild tune. Wondering if this is just affecting tuned sleds?

I have a 230 program from Precision EFI I was and am very happy with it as I didn't really want to get into clutching changes and noisier exhaust as we do big miles usually LOL The only thing I can think of it's like a VW pump I was torquing it fairly hard I let off fairly abrupt I wonder if I had rolled out a bit more gradual if it would have been ok maybe it kinda spiked like a centrifugal supercharger without a blow off or something. I thought I had done every upgrade known LOL guess we get to look into one more

This is several water pump failures i heard about now, is there a fix for this maybe a stainless impeller or something?I have a 230 program from Precision EFI I was and am very happy with it as I didn't really want to get into clutching changes and noisier exhaust as we do big miles usually LOL The only thing I can think of it's like a VW pump I was torquing it fairly hard I let off fairly abrupt I wonder if I had rolled out a bit more gradual if it would have been ok maybe it kinda spiked like a centrifugal supercharger without a blow off or something. Billet aluminum with a new shaft it threads onto opposite direction would be the right way. This is several water pump failures i heard about now, is there a fix for this maybe a stainless impeller or something?
Like this. One next to it was fiber plastic and held up well also but billet is bulletproof like a water pump should be. We had these made for Cannondales under $50.

Once there is a billet one it will be in mine right away. Got very lucky at Val Dor Gauthier Marina they had a blown engine from a wildcat SXS robbed the pump and went on my way to Matagami all good. Once again thanks everyone here we had done the trail diagnosis and that is what I figured had happened but is always reassuring when it happens to others the dealer has never seen it before LOL
