Getting Old, did you see the results of the USXC races this past weekend? The pro cross dominated. If Yamaha comes out with some big trail tank with no suspension you can bet your a$$ I will be on a Cat as long as it still has Yamaha power plant. The suspension on the Apex is not remotely close to the pro cross. You just keep telling yourself that your Apex has a good suspension because anybody that has any common sense knows better.

Actually it was 15 billion USD in 2018...but I get what your saying, Yamaha could have bought them with couch change.Textron bought Arctic Cat Industries for only $247 million. "In the 2018 fiscal year, Yamaha Corporation generated about 4.07 billion U.S. dollars in net sales." I don't think Yamaha wants Arctic Cat or they would have fought to buy them originally when they went up for sale. I am going on 8 years, service free, on my Apex (except oil, new battery, etc). Yamaha knows how to build the BEST bullet proof snowmobiles out there for the money. In my opinion, my Apex is equal to 5 each brand new 2 stroke machines because 2 stroke machines that are ridden hard last 5,000 miles max before major repairs are required. Apex at 25,000 miles is the first time its due for anything that has to do with the engine. And that is just a check. Its a sport-bike engine, its bulletproof.

Well I am not riding my Apex in the USXC races, I trail ride with it for gods sakes, with the updated shock in the S Shot suspension I am very pleased with the way it rides and so are a few others that have the upgraded shock, Star suspension also makes the Apex ride very nice on the trails also and those that have that are very pleased, with snow trackers on my skis you couldn't ask for much better, you don't think the Side winder is not a trail tank? get that sled stuck, it would be just as challenging to get unstuck as a Apex, as for the Cats pro cross it may ride better but with Cats build quality... Hmm.. wonder who has the no common sense, Apex will rise Again!!!! think team blue not Green.Getting Old, did you see the results of the USXC races this past weekend? The pro cross dominated. I'm not racing either but I do ride pretty hard at times and I'm sorry the Apex will not work for my riding style. I could however get a Nytro pretty close. It's not that hard to build a decent suspension now day's just copy the stuff that works. What do you think the other manufacturers do. I don't think Yamaha has any intentions on building anything new and the way the winter's have been and the cost of a new snowmachine I think money wise they are ahead of the game. I don't think they care if there number one in sales and I don't either.

None of the Yamaha chassis 4s machines were EVER intended for taking on any airborne activities or hard bashing no matter the chassis or suspension configuration.
As far as trail riding goes, the Monoshock is as smooth as any skid. I've ridden the almighty "God" skid, the R motion, and it didn't impress me one bit given the conditions I rode it on, which were relatively smooth hard pack with no major bumps.
Now, would it be better in 2' moguls at speed, yeah probably, but at one point we did encounter a nasty whooped out section, and my riding buddy slowed down because it was so rough. He had no better ride quality than me on my LTX Vector.
The only thing I noticed about his Doo was it did bite harder in turns than my Vector. Very precise, yet had a heavy steering feel, especially being a little 600. My Vector felt as though it had power steering when we switched back, which it doesn't.
But back to the skid ride quality, the Monoshock gives up nothing in ride quality vs other brands in most groomed trail conditions. Change my mind.

Yamaha I feel has always been a leader in powersport engines and have the sales to prove it, as far as the Yamaha Cat agreement it just seems like Yamaha is trending away slowly, the Ceo's of Yamaha japan are very very patient people and tight lipped, a lot more patient then you and I when it comes to snowmobiles, the agreement may continue for now but Yamaha has their own plan and direction when it comes to sleds, count on it! will they exit the market? not a chance, will they continue to pour Craig Kennedy's tea at Arctic Cat? what do you think? they will continue to sell engines to them its just good business, remember who and what Textron is and their history dealing with power sport companies, Yamaha knows this, its just a matter of timing when Yamaha will make their move,2021? 2022?I'm not racing either but I do ride pretty hard at times and I'm sorry the Apex will not work for my riding style. There have been countless comments like this except they ended in 2015? 2016?, and then 2017? 2018? and then 2019? 2020?

Considering this is the Apex General section where TY'ers come to chat and post about the Apex which clearly does not have the Pro Cross chassis, why do others who have disdain for the Apex even view these posts? If the heading of a post is going to trigger you, it might be best to skip past it and read on to the next post.

The point I was trying to make is that the OP asked a legitimate question based off a recent article he read and eventually out comes the comments of re-posting, give it a rest, saga continues etc. Although I believe the article was referring to the Apex suspension and not the Apex itself, it just seems that when someone comments about what they like about the Apex, it’s only a matter of time before the truly sensitive ones reply about how the Pro Cross chassis is so much better and we haven’t a clue.

The opposite is also true.

Yeah... some pretty sensitive anti Apex negative riders, that's fine, they ride for team green and lurk under the blue vail of Yamaha, but they keep trying to convince the true blues to ride green, I feel sorry for them.
