HaHa, you cant be serious!!! No one here is anti Apex. It is the few like you who are always stirring the pot. It is you who always makes anti-Pro-Cross statements in every forum you make comments on, none of them constructive. It is people like me whom are sick of you putting down our sleds and call you out on it.
Snowmobilers are a proud bunch. Not one of us likes some loud mouth putting our current ride down, no matter who makes it, a ride we paid hard earned money for. You dont like the new Yamaha's. We get it. You remind us every day. It is OLD!!

Robx-1 you will never see another Apex,Apex motor,rear suspension or anything that had to do with the Apex offered from Yamaha again it's ran its course and has been retired. So if some of you guys want to brag about a sled that is no longer manufactured and then rag on the guys that have moved on to the current model so be it but I will not sit on the sidelines and listen to the coments. You guys are riding around on your Apex and say your true blue Yamaha guys. You want to support Yamaha and be true blue buck up and by a new Yamaha and support them not just talk about it what a joke.

How i am I supporting Cat last time I looked at my Viper it said Yamaha on the side I don't care where Yamaha has there snowmachines manufactured. Your sled might be a 2016 but it has 2006 technology.

I'd buy a Viper in a New York minute, but cringe at the thought of a drivetrain using bushings instead of bearings, thus not only bushing wear, but taking out gears and chain.

There is no excuse, whatsoever, for the use of bushings in the drivetrain on any modern machine. WTF is this, 1970?? Awesome technology ya got there Arctic Cat, but why isn't Yamaha stepping in and fixing this $hit?!?!

Til Yamaha can either clean Cats litterbox for them, or throw the Cat out the door, this honky will stay on his 2006 technology and be perfectly content and confident in my machines.

Yes, I guess when you wrote 'bushings', it threw me off.
I admit the chaincase could be much better, but that top bushing will last longer in the Viper than the Winder simply due to less power.
It hasn't stopped me from enjoying one.

My bad for using plural, I guess I did it meaning as into that chassis as a whole, no matter which model or engine used.

And yeah, Viper should in theory last longer, but still, after 6 years why the F! hasn't Yamaha addressed the problem? It's glaringly apparent it's (bushing) not capable of handling the torque of a 4s engine.

I guess selling parts is as profitable as selling whole machines. Lol.
 
Just because you heard/read about it doesn't mean everyone is having a problem. How many drive bearings you put in your Apex?

Agreed. They have made changes to other aspects of the machine(which is good), but have failed to address a few remaining problem areas.....ggrrr!

A component does not have to actually fail or contribute to a failure or even have a proven reduced mean time before failure to be deemed unacceptable. Each change must be superior in every way to the previous version or sales volume will deteriorate.
