WET versus DRY

ground electrode burning

I read about this problem of the ground electrode burning on SnoWest. Seems to be something peculiar to nitrous. Possible cures discussed were going 2 steps colder on the heat range, placing shims under the plug to move the plug out of the chamber a bit, filing the electrode tip shorter. It wasn't mentioned but a side gap plug would probably help a lot too. Larry, you probably know this already but I thought I'd post this anyway for those who don't.

just add more fuel. any burn on plug is a lean condition, dont matter what your running the nos on. too lean and your plugs arnt the only parts that will be burnt. junkie

400 Horse....DAMN

That is insane, that a huge amount for even a car let alone a sled ? how you doing this, stages ? I've wondered why I haven't read on here about 2 stages of NOS on you guys running drags , does know one make stages ?

I have seen alot about nitrous and CB's kit gives a honest 25+ MPH on the 40hp shot and more like 35-40mph top end on the 80hp shot, I haven't seen bossnoss or holtzman touch that yet.

I was so tickled I bought the RX1 from CB :) :nos:

Isn't that a bold statement

That's a big statement to make! I bet Nos-pro would beg to differ with you on that one! He's the NOS king, what he says you can take to the bank.

Holtzman has a 125 kit, and it works well on the guys sled. But remember that the more you shoot in, the timing needs to be retarded, and high octane fuel used. I could run that system, but I use my sled on the trail, and don't want the hassle of bringing race gas to rides. They tested this kit last year on the ice with no problems......the sled just flies! Barry said. He has a test ice track 2 blocks from his business in the winter time.

Boy, 25mph on 40 horse?????????mmmmm............... I know Bruce well, as I get my nitrous from him, and this would be the first I have heard of a 40 horse running that mph.

Bruce, can you respond to this one?

Page 6 of this thread half way down is a video a 40hp shot 101 before 126 after IIRC:

http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/show ... ge=6&pp=10

This was at 9500rpm before and 10,500 after so I'm not sure what a RX1 top speed is when clutched perfectly for N/A at 10,200-300

Nos-pro we know the dream-o-meters are a little off but Bruce told me he has seen 156 on it before on the 80 shot, what is the most you have seen and with what shot? Thanks

144mph on the speedo with the Attak with 100 shot, this was on January 26th in Upper Michigan with Tork, Bluedog, and Swiss Sledder. Actual would have been 134mph on the gun.

Must have had a short run to do this, as the mph will go up quicker with the nitrous on. My runs on Rib lake was 117.6 stock, and 127.6 on the bottle. This was untuned, and was very rich with fuel.

I'm just not sure your getting the whole shot, the CB kit adds so much power they were blowing head gaskets and had to have it studded with ARP's. Every shot from 40hp on up has added 20+mph on the dream o meter according to Bruce (we talked before I bought the sled in depth about the N2O kit)

I will get some radar numbers this winter hopefully but 156-160 on the drem o meter means she's practically ready for take off!
