WET versus DRY

I agree with 87 and Black, as I could set up a sled that would throw big numbers, but still want to run the 87-93 octane rating, and not touch the engine. But like they said, everyday winter riding.

I love to race also, but after seeing a GT flip end over end at 128mph from another member next to me last year, I am skittish about doing any back-trail racing now these days.

Thanks guys.

For future searchers then I would like to summarize:

Boss, holtzman, boondockers, etc they put out about 65% of thier rated shot but use premium fuel and offer simpilized installation.

The CB perf kit uses a aux fuel tank to fill with 114 octane race gas, and a NX based kit that will spray within 1-2% of rated shot (40hp = 40hp), and requires a bottle heater. This allows use of reg 87 gas until on the bottle and the aux fuel system will feed the high octane and N2O together.

Thanks! :rocks:

Kinger, the RX1 that we sold you would be defined as a trail sled for sure. It is not intended to be a full blown racer but I can guaratee you that you will beat any other nitrous sled out there when out lake racing. It is the ideal lake racer sled as it can be driven without the gas on regular gas through the trails and when lake racing gets serious, you can blow the doors off of anyone. Many people think the bottle heater is an inconvinence but you know when you are going to go racing or you can leave it one whenever you ride to keep the bottle warm. Also the aux tank is not a big deal as it only needs to be refilled for the use of about 7.5 pounds of nitrous that you put throught the sled. By one 5 gallon can of the racing fuel and you are good for the year and probablythe next year too. This is the ultimate kit and gets you extreme power on command. The most reliable kit too the way we build up the engine and use high octane fuels.

2000srx - you know my preference ;) This sled is the perfect combo of trail performance and lake speed, with a true 80hp shot I can't wait to find some un-suspecting soles this winter! ha ha

2000srx, has this kit been tried on the APEX? Could you please give us the low down on what it would consist of?

When I last talked to Bruce he was talking about a system for his apex but it was more a one off cause they would direct port right into the head, so it would require drilling and tapping the head which is not something available in a kit form. I have a feeling they will come up with something else though :nos:

Kinger, that is absolutely correct from when I last told you. That is what we were gonna do. But we have since developed the same idea on this sled as our RX1 kit. The kit is going to be run with K&N filters and is going to have our special spacers that we designed so there is no drilling in the boot or anything. It is going to be extremely similar to the RX1 kit. When running K&N filters on it, we need to leave the top of the stock airbox attacted but we will remove the bottom of the airbox. It will be a hidden system essentially. Should work out really well and once we get it on our apex, we will get some pictures up. Thanks
