what 07 phazers are there? differences? just gt and fx? not really interested in the 08 don't agree with yamaha's practice of making smaller gas tanks to lighten machines ...07 tank is about 1 gallon difference, area/ type of riding i do that makes a huge influence in my buying decision, especially considering i don't believe tour buddies are available for this model

There is also Standard model.Biggest diffs are suspension. You get upgraded shocks and wind deflectors on the upper models.I ended up changing all my shocks on my standard so maybe keep that in mind.

there is a gt model nearby but thinking of skipping that am looking for the fx model instead... didn't see piggyback shocks on the gt but i think the fx has them?

Yes, the FX has the piggyback shocks.

Regarding the fuel tank, it was redesigned to meet EPA requirements, all sled MFG's had to make changes for '08.

Also, please take a moment to fill out your profile, you may have some TY friends in your area that you have yet to meet. ;)!

like Sledder Steve said, the reason for the smaller fuel capacity is that the gas tank wall is thicker this year than last because EPA required them to do so. So it's not about weight but about EPA for the tank being smaller.

Go with the mountain Lite! comes with the fan, better color and longer track. I find the longer track on my mtn lite gives it a better ride then the short tracks. Tried them both!
Just my .02 pennies

don't understand why the capacity had to change though, just design the 8 gallon tank with thicker walls, can't really add a fuel caddy, tour buddy anywhere...no room under the hood and at the back can't put one there either, like u could a rev because the exhaust exits there... have though about the mountain version... sick of riding in fresh snow and getting stuck ( every 121 track machine i had does) but dealer doesn't normally stock them ( am in upstate ny)

Lots of room to take extra gas on the Venture Lite or Multi Purpose. The rear rack is gi-normous.

Like Tturbo says ... the ride quality is excellent on the 144" track models, and they're not too bad in the deep stuff.

have u ridden one in newfoundland? i used to work with someone with there... told me they get tons of snow, showed me pics to prove... up to the telephone poles! ...if i got a 08 which i am not crazy about, sounds like my best option is to add a rear rack... if they are available

double oo where are you riding that you get stuck ive ridden mine in all sorts of snow and shes just as capable as all the rest of my sleds albeit slower just remember when in doubt gas her out she'll move

in ontario... fine on the trails but whenever i go ridding at my friend's farm usually end up getting stuck if i lose any momentum
