My son is going to be 3 in October and I was thinking of buying his first sled. Do I start out with a kitty cat, or do you think I should go with something like this? He is a big boy, but still has the motor skills of a 3yr old lol. So I am sure his steering wont be as good as his throttle lol. Thoughts??

Personally i would skip the 120 unless you can find a good deal. Opt for a scoot 200 and govern it. The 200 he can ride for years to come and an adult can manage to ride on back til he gets hang of it. My son was 4 1/2 when i got the scoot.

86 SnoScoot(2) for grand kids
My grandkids struggled with hand -size thumb reach for throttle control until 5 or so and the listening improved as well.
I also went with Sno Scoots( mine are the 1986 2strokes) the kids 30s and GRAND kids love them, I have 7 grandsons and 2 granddaughters all under 7 and when age 4 they struggled but at 5 and up they do well. The little ones ride around between my legs with hands on the bars. They love it. They do not like to ride behind because they cant see anything but my back even on a Venture king/queen seat.

My grandson started on the 120 at 4, and had no problem. I think the 120 fit him perfectly and was a good choice. It may be time now to upgrade, but I have no doubt that I will get what we paid for the 120 back when the time comes. I would not hesitate to get the 120!

my son had no problems with the 120 at 3 1/2 4. At the time they did not have the 200's scoot. I wish they did. He was riding the grown up sleds more then his 120. Lol. A few years later that is. But I would vote scoot as well. You can ride with him until he gets use to it. And like stated before just govern it until they are ready. Good luck and great to hear another youngster is getting into the sport.

Skip the kitty cat. A 120 is a good option. I started my son on a 120 at 4. 200s had just come out, so there were no used ones to be had and I wasnt spending the cash on a new one. My thought is if you buy used and take care of them, kids powersports toys are easy to sell again and usually for the same or close to what you paid for it. So no real loss if you buy a 120 and sell it in a couple years for something bigger. Or keep it and have one for his siblings if you have more kids.

Kitty Cats are great starters for real little kids but they don't go through much snow and they out grow them in one season. I would not waste my time with one and go straight to the bigger 120.
