Oh and Suspension. Have never wasted $ on improving suspension. Cant go fast if sled cant handle it. That is not a plug for my services either. I could outride my stock suspension pretty easily. Not anymore. Consider that over engine mods first. Heck there is many here that will tell you that my Phazer once suspended right could easily outrun many much higher powered sled without even breaking a sweat. Talking Apexs,SRX's you name it. I would wait for a rough corner or whooped out straight and go right by!

This skid is amazing in the woops and trails. The harder you ride it the better it handles. Not too many sleds can hang with my wife and I in trails. One poo rush hangs but that's about it. Not even doo.

The way I look at it is that I have just over 9 grand in the sled so I can afford to but another 1 to 1,500 in it and still have a really good sled at really good deal. Like I've said before I just want a trail ripper and could care less about racing on lakes. If I can make this a solid mid 90s sled I have accomplished all I want. From what I am hearing here that is achievable with a little tinkering.

In my opinion, cannondales answer is 100% correct.
Your going to see a few people here and there claiming that the stock sled runs 100 mph, but most of these vipers won't.
Theres far more stock sleds running below 90mph than above it.
Conditions play more of a factor on this sled than any i have ridden before. The harder snowpack, the faster you go.
Personally i dont want an aftermarket turbo so i have dumped a small fortune into mine to get a more consistent top end. I now have what i wanted, but it took a lot of money and tinkering and some long frustrating nights to get there.
Knowing what i know now,If i had it to do all over again. I would probably just clutch it with a good (easily adjustable) kit. Do an air box mod, keep the stock (quiet) muffler, Add some dupont slides and a few extra idler wheels and ride.

Only in extremely tight twisty trails will you be able 2 keep up with experienced 800 riders. What I'm sayin is if you jumped on a 190hp, small turbo viper ( you can't even feel any lag on those), you would be amazed! Acceleration corner to corner is not even close 2 what your riding now. I hear guys say "Oh I can keep up in the twisties" yea maybe, but if the trail opens up into some longer straights between turns, it's over 4 U. Ride one and tell me it's not worth the money, I dare ya! LOL
