You need to buy a 07 UPDATE KIT, the kit was for 06 sleds ..
Your dealer should be able to get it for you..

Yes, sort of... it was an upgrade you could purchase for $30.. but the dealers were selling them to anyone who wanted one..

Almond,
If you have a new 2006 model that has not been updated, you already have the bars that everyone wants.
Don't let them trade you for 2007 bars, you just want the 2007 wiring harness or the mod to your harness and keep the 2006 bars. That is the hot set up!
Check ROCKERDAN's post in the FAQ section. Much has been discussed about this but it is really very simple, original '06 bars with '07 wiring!

What you want is the '07 sub lead. I don't believe it is available separately. You need to buy the '07 bar upgrade but keep your '06 bars. Do not remove them from your sled. Take the upgraded sub harness from the '07 bars and install it in line between your '06 bar harness and the machines main harness. Sell the '07 bars on line.
You won't believe the difference it makes. You won't be able to ride with the warmers higher than 2 bars.
'07 bars
The hooks are one piece with heaters all the way to the end.

I do believe the kit for the 06s is now discontinued from Yamaha. You'll have to find a dealer with a set sitting on their shelf.

sxray, do you have more info on the splice? I bought an 06 with the update already done so I don't have the original bars available. Is there a splice procedure with 07 bars and harness? thanks

It wouldn't be such a big deal if the connectors were readily available.

Splice it wrong and you could be saying bye bye to your control unit. Paid $30 for the 07 handlebars with both heated grips and the sub assembly that connects my 06 attak in parallel instead of in series. The retail for just the handlebars is $58 and each heated grip is $103.00. Yes, look this up online, $103.00. I'm taking the harness and going to sell the handlebars with the grips. Anyone interested?????

rosco, have heard this will not with 07 bars because of the way heaters are in the updated bars. if you look at the diagram for the harness this is what it is doing. find the connections for the handlebar grips. the grips have two black wires coming from each with one grip connecting to a yellow/red and black/red wire. the other connects to a black/yellow spot and red/black wire. take a black wire from each grip and connect to yellow/red wire and the other two black wires from the grips to the black/yellow spot wire. the red/black wire is not used anymore. i did tape ends of black/red wires. on my sled i just cut the connectors off, twisted wires together and soldered and heat shrinked the wires. on nephews sled i used connectors from radio shack. on son's sled used the harness. all work fine.

SXray, thanks forthe info. That sounds fairly strait forward. Was it a for sure that it would not work on 07 bars if wired as you described? I would try it but if already proven not to work I will leave it as is.

The '07 wiring with '07 bars will simply get you the crappy '07 performance. '07 wiring with '06 bars is the hot set up.
