What mirrors are you all running on the XTX?

My friends are always behind. Getting sick of turning around all the time to see if they are keeping up. Looking for something like I had on my Renegade. Not the goofy mirrors on the handlebars, but the mirrors mounted ahead of your knees on the side panels. Thinking of trying those, as they may fit. Thought of trying to put small mirrors inside the hand guards. Looking for subtle.

I put the goffy one on the handlebars last year and they work great. I have had the one's down by the knee's and they are a joke. They vibrate and are hard to see around your knees and they are to low. Try the hand mirrors if you want cheap or the handlebar ones if you want something that really works well

Anyone running the arctic cat windshield mount mirrors that attach to the sides of the windshield?

they are mirrors I had on a venture.I modifide some brkts.& fastened them to the hand guard arms.

Yeah, I know about the mirror kit (hand guard mount) for the Nytro, but I don't feel comfortable spending $135 + tax Cdn for this setup...tired of being overcharged for Yamaha components.

I've seen the handlebar mount mirror kits for the Apexes, they go for $35, while a good price, doesn't mount up so well on the Nytros as far as I have seen.

How do the hand guard mirror kits actually bolt on? to the existing holes? Anyone have a kit mounted and have some pics to share?

The kit comes with the black plastic threaded mounts that attach to the bolts that hold the hand guards. Kit includes longer bolts. Right side mirror has reverse threads. Pro: They do work. Con: There can be some vibration and need to use a wrench otherwise they will come loose and swing. Mirrors need to be removed to fit in a 10 ft trailer. Price.

I just installed the Powermadd guards, the Star series with the cover extensions and the mirror kit. I have them on my Warrior and the mirrors are just enough to see if someone is behind you. They should be warm with the extensions.

Thanks for the pics NR. That helps me understand the setup. I still don't understand how Yamaha can charge so much for that though.

I currently run the Powermadd handguard mirrors on my stock guards. I'm just looking for something a bit more clearer.

I just called my dealer yesterday to order some "side body deflectors" I believe they are quite new as I gave him the part number from the yamaha can. website and he couldn't find them in his system. I am looking to put a mirror on the back side of them, should look O.K. as I don't like any of the other looks. My second choice is also the powermadd mirrors. Part # is SMA-8GLDF-00-00 ($69.95) Caution this is a permanent mount and requires "drilling" I trailer my sled and covering it is a must, some of the other options don't work for me. Good luck with what ever you try! J5

If you get the Powermadd with the spring kit, the mirrors fold to put the cover on the sled.
