I've been looking around and kinda got confused on what I should buy.I've looked at the megelin 100 and 200 and they have a 210 comin that looks nice. Also looked at the garmin etrax and legend. What are your thoughts thanks

Garmin etrex Legend color. Love it! I just switched to it from a garmin etrex legend. I use it on my bike, sled, boat and car with Ram mounts.

At $269 canadian its not a bad deal. The software has cost me close to 400 bucks. I just upload the topo maps of the area I'm going sledding in and and tracks I have and I'm good to go.

I have a power point on the sled and I plug into that. I leave the backlight on all the time to keep the display from freezing up.

I have the Garmin Color 60CSMAP with ram mount for handlebar,
external power cable and TOPO maps loaded for my area and it
is an awsome unit. Used on bike, snowmobile truck etc.

So if your interested check out my "for sale" in the classified comes with
everything good deal.. This is not my unit its a new one complete. ;)!

They all work well. I think the preference would lean more for what you want to do with the gps, besides get back to point A. The software that can be used with most units varies. Some allow you to make your own maps, such as Lowrance. I am not familiar with the Magellen, but I have used the Garmin.
Some snowmobile clubs are using the software to create maps of all their trail systems, which will be great for the sport. ;)!
Got to Love Technology!
Then of course there is the size consideration and if you want maps and "bells and whistles". I think in the future, there will be many more people using them, especially riding in unfamiliar areas.

I just got a Garmin Vista C from www.gpscentral.ca. Nice little unit. Same as the Legend C plus it has an electronic compass and altimeter.

$325 cdn plus software.

It's my first GPS. Fairly easy to use. Bought a RAM handlebar mount to go with it. Very sturdy unit.

I second the Garmin GPS map76C. The 60C is also a nice unit and smaller, but it has 56mb of internal memory compared to 115mb for the 76C.

I love the 60C but have had it turn itself off on occasion.
