Slydog Powderhounds, 8" Bergstrom Triple Points, Skisaver, shimmed 1/8" under the FRONT of the ski rubber, 1/8" toe in. Rails around corners regardless of hardpack or loose snow. SLIGHTLY heavier than stock steering, but I believe due more to tightening the limiter strap one hole. Have ridden hardpack to offtrail DEEP powder. Front end goes where I point it and stays on top. Mine are multicolor, red and blck flame. I think they are the sharpest looking skiis out there.

Tweaker, Only time it ever darted was our last trip in Muni. I had the ski's shimmed tomuch and it plowed. Reduced from 1/4 to 1/8 shim, and that cured it. I don't haave any pics, but if you check thier website, they are shown there. Bounty, She doesn't pick out my sled stuff. She did pick out my Klim jacket, pants and Tekvest though!! If she had picked them out they would have been PINK LOL!!

C&A's with 6" carbide here. Even with the awesome bite of the Cat skid there is NO push in the corners.

USI Tripple Threat X2's here they are AGRESSIVE I went from stock to pilots to these. If you are the kind of guy that doesn't care how hard it steers only that when you need to turn it TURNS then these are for you. They are fairly heavy but you get used to them and muscle grows to do any job They turn when you ask no questions asked there and they don't seem to dart.

I have had stock, precisions, C&A pro, and Pilots on my Rx1's. The best all round for me is the Pilot. They steer super easy which is great for my girls. They do not dart at all and steer well in most conditions. The only problem I have is push in loose snow, but I have noticed the others I ride with were complaining of the same thing when ever I've noticed it. The precisions were a close second.

Unless I missed it, I never seen anyone mention SLP Powder Pro's? I used these with StudBoy 6 inch shaper bars on my Gen 2 Polaris and really like them for aggressive trail riding. I'd have to buy different mounts to use them on my Apex. Any comments?

Thats some funny sh**t right there!
I am going powder hounds. Love the looks of Dave's. Seam to do really good in the powder. Whenever we stopped my bumper was almost touching the snow on the rx1 and daves skis were still showing.

Hard to steer? You guys are a bunch of sissys! I have a 136 m10 with studs, now that is hard to steer and this 45 year old, out of shape paper pusher has NO problems. My biggest concern with skis are cornering first, then push, then floatation. Darting is the least of my concerns because it can be cured very easily.
Simmons; I thought they were the very best until I tried something else. They suck unless you are on hardpack or off trail. They push like hell in loose snow. Don't tell me my set up is wrong, it couldnt be more perfect.
C & A pros; I liked better than Simmons. But they were sloppy in the corners, plus they are noisy.
New Pilots; This is what I have on now (not by choice). To narrow, but very good in the corners. No floatation. Yes I probably should have gotten the wider skis, but they were not available when I had topurchase them due to an accident. These will go on my Vmax next season.
Slydogs; These are by far the best all around ski I have used on my sled. Great cornering in all conditions, float in the deep or powder. Very little steering effort. I wrecked mine in a drain pipe sticking out of a culvert. Bent the ski over. I will have a new pair by next season.
I don't even know why darting is even discussed any more. People just need to pony up a little cash. Bergstrom triples, ski savers and shims will fix them all, and if not then woodys. Spend a little cash and fix the problem. I change my carbides at least once a season. It is the single most important saftey item on any sled, period.

I do mostly groomed trails, it is very rare that I am off trail, Should I go with the slydog trails or the powder hounds, are they both good on groomed trails?

The cash isn't the point, it’s the principle of the whole darting issue. It's like buying a new car and having to dish out several hundred dollars for new tires just to have a decent ride....unacceptable. The skis should work in stock form from the factory. Besides, how do you think Yamaha feels about Apex owners putting Ski-doo skis on their sleds? There’s more then just a few doing it.

And I hate paying taxes also, but I have to do it. Yammie skis suck, but if just by adding Berstrom tripples, ski savers and a shim, they will work much, much better. Or just screw it and put on some Woddy's.
