when are we going to see the carbon fiber sleds.

Have to give a hats off to Jaret, he stays so positive with this Yamicat agreement especially with Yamaha history of making top quality products, he must get frustrated though dealing with Craig Kennedy from Cat, not sure what else the two team players can do to make the dated Procross better for customers, using carbon fiber on the pro cross just wouldn't be worth it, the other brands have stepped ahead with at least some new concepts to their chassis, motors, and accessories, ergonomics, Yamicat is being left behind, Yamaha alone would step ahead, Cat agreement is holding them back, I think in the back of Jarets mind he knows this.

You want a Yamaha presence in snowmobiles then Textron is the ticket. Yes the procross is dated but a step up from the delta box. Yamaha faithful would have embraced the Procross Yamacats if they designed in eps. Apex lovers would have transitioned instead of waiting for the never to be pure Yamaha snowmobile. Huge engineering and marketing mistake imo.

Can you just give it a rest, enough with the negative Nancy crap on the Pro Cross chassis were sick and tired of hearing it.

At first I thought YES 18k is A LOT then I realized a new f150 Lariat would take > 3x that much so as much as I don’t like it........relatively it ‘not that much but still HURTS to even think that.
I guess at my age I think 18k is a lot of money for recreational product that I might get to use 6/8 times a year . I will admit if I was 30 years younger I would be looking for the biggest and best . Now I think about 18k would get me 3 kids ATV’s and my Grandchildren and I could go riding .

@20/80 You have an uncanny ability to turn almost every thread into a YamahaCat bashing rant.

At least you can use the F150 most every day of the year. 18k is crazy and the average family is almost priced out of the sport if you consider several new machines not to mention the trailer and truck lol.

Totally agree. It seems the price of ALL recreation toys- Boats, ATV/UTV/SXS, SLEDS, BIKES, Campers, skiing, anything - you name it- is just mind blowing.

I'm surprised Yamaha hasn't brought in a single piece cast aluminum front end to "update" the Procross chassis. Way too many separate parts held together with screws and rivets up front. Only down side is having to replace the whole thing if you wreck but it would be a heck of a lot stronger than the A-frame underneath them currently. That combined with a Carbon Fiber pyramid assembly would really do wonders for weight reduction and rigidity.

That’s Textron tooling not Yamaha highly doubt Yamaha will pay for any tooling that’s exclusive to Yamaha as would defeat the purpose of the shared cost agreement. Neither company is going to make any major investment in new tooling refining yes all new not in the cards now.

Yeah right!
How about Yamaha just making their own sleds again, so we could say I have a Yamaha sled, instead of the truth, a CAT sled with Yamaha motor and clutches, thus the real name which I call mine, My Yamacat! Meow...
They are still making sleds!!!

No snow man And non in the forecast for the next 10 day's, if I knew than what I know now I never would have bought it. This sport is really getting depressing with the changing weather around here lately I should of bought a new SXS it would have been money better spent. Oh well that's the gamble ya take.

It has been mild here also, but we did have 10" of snow a day ago, not looking to get cold anytime soon, maybe from the 20th on it will start to cool off, yes buying a new sled is a gamble, you might have 2 bad years and one good one, Winders are not cheap here in Canada and neither are SXS's, the price of them now can be a hard pill to swallow.

Ya that's for sure nothing is cheap now days but at least the SXS you can use year around.
