Is this oil as good as penzoil platnum Euro Lx 0w30 ,thought it was the best oil for these machines
Well, everybody has their preferences, I don’t think anybody can say for sure what oil is the best. Just use whatever works for you. Didn’t mean to turn this into an oil thread, but I guess it kind of already was.

540 RAT - Tech Facts, NOT Myths

This Rat 540 guy has lost any and all credibility with me. His used Quaker State super oil locks up his machine without any pressure on it with less than 5000 miles on it if you read his blog. Notice he hasn't posted anything new in the last year. I questioned him about Valvoline Restore & Protect and he bad mouthed it without even testing it or seeing it. Wear metals on a used analysis will tell you if any oil is doing its job or not, and the UOA's on Restore & Protect has all been fabulous. Restore & Protect was made to clean the carbon from oil control rings. I use the VR&P in our Audi Q7 that is prone to carbon up the oil control rings and gobble oil. It never thought about how important it is to keep the oil control rings and ring lands clean until running into the extreme low tension oil control rings on this particular Audi engine. I see lots of these late model automotive engines having the problem now with oil consumption when these low tension oil control rings plug up with carbon, they literally coke up and stick. He swore up and down that the VR&P is going to introduce extreme wear on any engine and he wouldn't even test it, but had no problem bashing it. Low and behold VR&P is one of the lowest on average wear metals over others including the expensive boutique oils like Amsoil and HPL oil. The testing he performs is not at all related to anything the engine sees except maybe cam wear on flat tappet engines. Lake Speed Jr is far more intelligent about oils than this Rat 540 dude that is certain. I used to follow his blog, but never again.

I would call the dealer that you are going to use for your warranty work and ask them what to do, its there sled until after the warranty is up.I have had 1 weekend ride so far for engine break-in on our new 2025 Sidewinder LTX LE. It has about 220 miles now. I know that the manual states to change the oil & filter after 500 miles. I am taking the sled on a trip to the U.P. with my fiancé next week and will likely put on another 350-500 miles on that trip. Wondering if I should change the oil now or wait until after that trip?
If you guys recommend that I do it now, should I stick with the 0w-30 Yamalube for this oil change yet? Once I am past the break-in period, I will be running 5w-30 Mobil 1 or Valvoline full synthetic oil.

Ummm... no. There is no reason to need to call the local dealer (which isn't even the one that we bought the sled from) and I will ONLY use a dealer if ABSOLUTELY necessary to get warranty work done. Outside of that, no one at the dealer will ever touch this sled.I would call the dealer that you are going to use for your warranty work and ask them what to do, its there sled until after the warranty is up.
