Should this thing be at the end near the muffler on a Nytro or near the engine more. It seems as though the readings at the end are very lean...which would probably make sense.

Thanks!
Dave

Usually you want it as close to the collector as possible.
On our systems it's rearward of the collector a little more, but mainly make sure you have room to remove/install the sensor, and that it's not going to come into contact with any of the obvious..
Allen Ulmer had posted a pic of a stock header with the bung welded in it. If I can find it, I'll post a link.

I think space is going to drive where you install. I was told to keep it away from tunnel snow as well. I got mine on an Apex and have it mounted downstream of the muffler.

If I remember correctly it is mounted 2-3 inches from where the muffler would mount to the header

You have yours mounted "downstream" of your muffler, as in - after it? That wouldn't give you any measure of accuracy if so?

On the Nytro's, it's usually mounted in the "s" bend part of the pipe, so the sensor points somewhat at the corner of the tunnel cover, which allows the leads to pass through the front corner quicly, without much exposed wire.

Mine is about the same as shaddow. Keep it away from the outlet of the exhaust, youll get false lean reading like mentioned..

If you don't have any leaky donuts or other exhaust leaks, before the muffler will be fine. Now if you have an exhaust leak it will show lean while at idle, but usually when you hit the gas it will go down in afr.

On a turbocharged sled the sensor should be after the turbo.

Thanks all! I have mine roughly 2-3 " in front of muffler/header pipe joint.
