12 years and my pension kicks in. Getting out of Minnesota for good! It can't come soon enough for me. I will be going west. Hopefully to the western edge of Montana. Hope my wife wants to join me......if not, I might have to look for a new wife or get a really nice dog.

Has not been a deer season up here for years (they cut out all of the deer yards) and moose is a draw for three days...waaaay better up your way! As for sledding and living off a military pension, with what you could get for your house you could live like a king and the NB/Gaspe trails are IMHO second to none.

Well it snowed here on my lunch break while browsing the internet. Go to Google and type in "Let it snow"...

Perhaps I'd better check the MLS your way! I'm getting a little tired of the "Alberta Advantage"upei93 said:canoehead said:upei93 Perhaps I should sell here and move there and live on my military pension. How's the moose and deer hunting, still pretty good?

The house next door and the one across the street from me are for sale...5 for sale signs on my street in the last 3 years. 6-7 people on the street have also lost high paying jobs in the same time period. In keeping with the thread, snowing right now and forcasting a storm for Thursday.

I remember the first new sled I bought was a 1980srx. That winter -79-80, I remember riding on christmas day and seeing nothing but plowed fields. Only snow was what had drifted into the ditches. We did eventually get snow and put on about 2500km that year.
These winters do seem to be getting more frequent though. Sold my Nytro about 3wks ago and now I guess i'll wait and see what happens. About an inch on the ground right now, above freezing temps tomorrow, no snow in forecast for at least a week. At least I have an Argo to play with!

I remember it snowing on Halloween...but for the most part, the lake was frozen before December and we had rideable snow by the first week...and it lasted until the end of march...sure miss those days.
I just got my new 509 helmet/goggle/anti fog unit, along with the 509 movie.
I watched it, now I am really itching to go. No snow in sight. if it continues like that, I am packing for a road trip to Alaska....

Hey UPei,
We were doing some work just north of Governors last monday/tuesday/wed. 12" of fluffy stuff on the ground and had to plow the roads to get access off Rte 180! Here we are a week later, snowpack is cut in half and crusty. Managed to get a few km's on the old Skidoo Tundra at least... I think that Nepisiquit is grooming abover Roger's Lake to Governors today. And it looks like Thursday is lining up for a classic 3 cm's that turns into 10x more.
On the topic of snow. Seems to me last year we had none up to the 27th of December and then it never stopped.
Oh Yeah, I'd X2 your thoughts on living in Northern NB......we have winters and sledding second to none. Now if we could just straighten out that economy thing. Canoehead, time for a visit!

This is a record for me. I've never been this deep in december without a ride under the belt.
