Which skid is the easiest to adapt to an 121 RX1 . (m-10, sc 10, zr or anything else) I am looking for the cheap route to change this skid. Also, from those with experience, which suspension is faster off the line, proaction or apex monoshock. :o|

I also put the SkiDoo SC10III in mine its pretty easy I cant speak for other suspensions but I bet they are just as easy. I went with the Doo cause I found one pretty cheap and it had rebuildable shocks etc I think I paid 350 for suspension 100 to have both shocks rebuilt and revalved for my weight and cause I am a fat bastard LOL I put new springs on it. I can probably even build some templates from mine if you need them but I am sure someone else on here already has them

There all better than PRO suck. Love the ZX2. SC3 is realy good and good price, M10 $$$$ and soft and loss of speed. It depends on the rider I think. I took the ZX2 because I got a good deal, lost some weight and beat the #*$&@ out of my sled, and no loss of speed. Good luck

One vote for the T-Cat skid here... 17lbs lighter, awesome hookup, durable, great ride compared to the no-action and the price was right... $400.00. THE best mod I did to the sled. Absolutely NO regrets

Pro-x with Walker Evans... IMO its what you can get cheapest between Polaris,Doo all Cat they are all pretty much the same work to install and there are members on here that have installed either... There is A pro-x for sale with the mounts on the classified section...

I also have a T-Cat skid i want to put in my 05 RX-1. Do i need to make plates to install??? Seems like there used to be a template somewhere on here to do the swap.

Thanks
Joe

Turbomania, If you do a search you will find quite detailed info with pics regarding the install. I used 1/8th inch steel for the rear brackets and bought another set of the Yamaha mounts for the front. I had to slightly grind the ends off the front shaft to fit nice and tight. Not a hard install at all to do.

I did the polaris edge and have it for sale with mounts, I swapped to the ZX2 SOLEY for weight. The edge skid is still 5 lbs lighter then the proaction though and it rode AWESOME I loved it, I just got suckered into the ZX2 for weight and I love the design of it, hopefully I'm not disappointed if I am the edge goes back in!

Kingers Edge rear skid is a good deal. I have the Pro-X version which is a lot stiffer. Although I like my Pro-X rear, the regular Edge rear skid is the better ride. Can't go wrong.

As usual, thanks for all the great replies. I will keep my eyes open for a skid here in my area as they are pretty heavy to ship. Thanks again rocks: :rocks:

what about a IQ with walker eveans remote adj shocks. Are they as good as the edge. Maxdlx
