Which one of these sleds is going to be the smoothest trail machine? Will only be pounding rough trails 25% of the time. Getting to old for these stiff rides. Coming off a nytro xtx
2016, ltx le.
2016, ltx se
2016, xtxall models

Smoothest are not on the list the LTX DX or STX DX . These are all coil over shocks and designed to be trail smooth.
Funny thing some think of the DX's as base models others, myself included think of them as Deluxe models.

Look at features, knowing they are smoothest on trail and hard to not consider them, just as quick and fast but smoother=>I love my STX DX or Deluxe model.

My 2cents

I think the S TX DX 146 would be the smoothest trail machine, it the same chassis and skid frame as the Arctic Cat Pantera 7000

coming off the Nytro they all are going to be an improvement as far as ride and steering effort.

Remains to be seen but the LTX SE in 16 has the coilover 3 position Fox shocks I believe they will be very nice ride.

The riding position, stability and 'quiet' front end- meaning no dart, hunt, track to fight -makes this the most comfortable sled I have owned.

I got that phrase "quiet" front end from along time Poo riders comments after a 20 mile sled switch. He loved it and said it was the best trail sled he had ridden. I too ride trail most of the time.

The smoothest riding sled is the one running in the deepest powder. ;)! haha

I think that they are all good if set up right. Our XTX's with the uncoupled rear soak up the bumps. Another riding buddy has a LTX LE, He had the rear shocks relvalved for his weight and riding style and that sled eats the bumps now without bucking him off.

If your looking for the smoothest ride I believe this is it

Seriously though stick with coil over shock package. In 2014 they only had them available on the RTX. I bought a complete set of Hygear axis shocks and my 53 yr old body with bad hips, 2 blown discs and bad knees can ride 300 miles a day no problem. Once dialed in the chassis can handle just about anything trail wise without giving you any pounding at all.

Where do you find smooth trails 75% of the time that's what I want to know???

It's my opinion that you can get away with a firmer shock on smoother trails, but when the trails start to get pounded the lesser shocks go away quickly. I prefer a custom valved premium shock pkg myself.

Sunrise after groomed, so for me it is 7 am on SATURDAY and SUNDAY!!!!!

We always used to ride Thursdays. Trails were most often freshly groomed the night before. Harder and harder to take time off these days when self employed.

the 7 am thing sounds good, but I'd guess that will get you 50/50 riding in most cases. Good going out and rough coming back.
