Who owns a Dodge 2500?

NOS-PRO, did yours break or are you looking into the recall? Just talked to the dealer again today and they said parts will be in around April 11-14th. This is the B.S. line the dealer tried to sell me... "The customer vehicles that are out-of-service due to a broken tie rod will take top priority and parts will be shipped to these dealers first." I think that is a line of crap but I guess I will have to wait and see. Next update will be in two weeks!!!

Sorry I missed the response on this one Cummins...

No, Mine did not break and don't want it to. I knew I would be going north again this past weekend and was hearing horror stories....so I wanted it fixed.

Bringing it in next week.

Speaking of the death wobble..I had that happen to me when the truck had 5,000 miles on it. I called the dealer right away and they said bring it in...they were having problems with the trucks. Found out left front shock and stabilizer shock was bad. Not had a problem since. But let me tell ya....what an #*$&@ pucker moment! The tires had 4 spots on the outside where the tires cupped under or folded. The steering wheel moved back and fourth so fast I couldn't grab the wheel. This happened passing a car on the highway and started to wobble when I crossed an overhead that was on an angle.

Hey Dab What did you do to remedy the death wobble? My son has an 03 and does it once you hit 120 km mark. Had pretty well a new front end put on but still does it. Looked at some cross member kits but...............

Definitely the steering stabilizer.....

After how many weeks, my truck is fixed

I had them replaced in late February and have to go back in because the new ones they put on are now being recalled.

Update on Dodge.....

My truck was finally fixed in springtime with the front end and then in June, my Cummins #1 and #3 injector started to fail. After deciding if I should just replace all of them or just the ones giving me problems...I decided to do them all and put in larger (100 Hp) injectors. I did this because the injectors in sets of 6 are balanced for even flow.

After $4,800 total bill (injectors, gaskets, tubes, filter system) my truck had tons of power with no chip or programmer

Last month, my truck started to do the strange missfire again and now it is at a diesel shop in Green Bay trying to figure out what the F&%# is going on. Flawless performance, excellent fuel mileage and not a miss or anything before 96,000 miles. Now at 100,000 I can't even begin to say how this truck is not making my day. One thing that I can say is the place in Green Bay is covering a lot of expense because they sold me the parts and want me happy. THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Nice it's hard to find good customer service, having someone else work on a diesel engines is not cheap. My 06 is running get just need to get the tires be replaced.

Someone decided to put muddy water, sand and dirt in my fuel tank. Took out everything on the fuel system....fuel pickup pump, high pressure pump and injectors. Going to be at Dodge for a little while.

Have a pretty good idea who it was.....grrrrrrrr.

Dam you really must of pissed someone off. Cant wait to here how this plays out in your favor.

Thank you bleedyamaha, I didn't think I had any enemy's....but after a couple conversations, I figured out who it was. It's jealousy....not that I pissed him off.

Need help hiding the body?

Lol ;)

New update on my truck......

Now at 107,845 miles..... the engine couldn't be running any better :) All new fuel system is working great and truck is getting an honest 22.4 mpg with no chip or programmer.

Figured....ok, it's time to get a programmer as the warranty is out and I want to have more power with better fuel mileage. I picked up a used programmer (Bullydog) and installed it. Crazy how changing improves the power like this!!!! Holy $HIT!

But, since I have owned this truck since new, I have never adjusted the bands or drained the transmission fluid. After the install, I noticed a slight shutter at highway speeds and then 2nd gear was almost non-existant. Coming home from the track last weekend, it was pulling fine but I didn't beat on it. Took it in to a transmission place and I should be picking it up today....with part of my a$$ hurting. The bands were so wore and stretched, the guy laughed as the truck shouldn't have even moved....especially pulling a trailer. $3,600 (roughly) for a new triple disc convertor ($1,100 alone), shift kit, clutch packs, bands and drive shaft....yes, I said driveshaft. The driveshaft was bent, not much but enough to make a differnce. This truck always had a slight vibration but thought it was just the torque pull from each cylinder firing.

To all who have the 48RE transmission, have it serviced every 25,000 religiously to keep from having costly repairs.

Transmission will hold up to 1,200 lbs. of torque, up to 850 horse now.

And the guy who was jealous in the previous posts.... let's just say karma bit him in the #*$&@ big time ;)

$3600! Ouch... Glad to hear it's running and moving again! I have been thinking about the programmer, exhaust and doing all the deletes on my 6.7 as well. I just don't know if the $1500-2k is worth it. My enclosed trailer with the '55 Bel Air only weighs about 7500 lbs. The cummins has more than enough power to git-r-done! Other than the tie rod issue, I have only replaced the 02 sensors. Granted, I only have 38,000 miles on my '08. The wife says that I will own that truck for a long time to come and I don't have a problem with that. I can't imagine forking out $65,000+ on a new one!

I hear ya....bought this one new and thought about getting rid of it for a new one....but that isn't going to happen as the new ones just don't perform and get mileage like the one I have now. Bodywork will be replaced when needed, but I need to drive the crap out of it to get my monies worth out of it now.

If you have an auto 48RE, get the bands adjusted and fluid changed. Trust me, these guys working on my tranny have seen more than their share of transmissions where the adjustment wasn't done and the tranny became junk because of the band getting so loose to the point of falling out or the and breaking.

Truck was picked up Tuesday, new triple disc convertor, new drive shaft (stock one was bent), reworked valve body, shift kit, solonoids??? new clutch plates and steels, bearings, seals, updated bands with heavy duty bolts and brackets, new tranny lines and a list of other things to make it bullet proof. It shifts very firm now and when the lock up convertor engages....there is 0 lag. Not to mentioned it will hold up to 1,300 ft. lbs. of torque and up to 900 hpr. They also fixed my column shift problem where you had to yank it out of park to go in gear, now it's so easy. Add to this bill, the transfer case was separated and cleaned, new seals and gasket with a tailshaft bushing (because it looked tapered from the bent driveshaft vibration). These guys know their $hit! Even when I went there to check on the status, they walked me right back to the truck and showed me the damaged parts and what they were going to put in there....that earned my trust right there! Wednesday was the test drive to Milwaukee and back, everything is so smooth at highway speeds I didn't even know I was doing 80. The best part is they quoted me $3,600 and with all the extras they did cost me a grand total of $3,700.20 :) with a 3 year warranty.

Went home and installed my Bullydog that I bought from Shagman, installed it and when you put it on "Crazy Larry" my god! who needs a drag car to smoke tires.... LOL

Yup, very happy camper here :)

Cummins6.7pwr - All I can say is HOLY SCHNIKIES!!!!!! My Dodge has truly amazed me with the power, torque and speed.

Took some money but WOW! All I can say is I'm very happy with my truck once again!
