I asked this question at SW as well. Rode Island Park this week in basically bottomless powder, having to stay on the throttle most all the time. On hardpack, sled ran great - no problems - get into the powder and couldn't go more than a minute without some kind of misfire, sputter, bog, popping. Sometimes wouldn't even idle if let off the flipper. Had a couple times where max RPM's were 8500 at WOT and then started dropping. I have the pre filter material over all the hood/side vents. Is the snow restricting air or is powder being sucked into the intake or ??? Thanks in advance - frustrated.

Your sucking in snow. I had the same problem last year. Take a look at your hood.....there is a good chance is doesnt fit tightly to the side panels.

What I did is got 1" wide foam tape. Its at the hardware store by the widow and door insulating kits. Its sticking on one side and not on the other. you need to put it on the back side of the hood where the hood meets the side panels. I also put a piece up front on the plastic hook that locks under that bar to make the hood fit tighter.

When this problem was happeneing to me we stopped and removed my hood and air box. under hood was packed and there was alot of water in the air box.

Good luck. Eric

Thanks Eric - I will do it this week and see what happens

Any codes? If you are seeing code 84 you may be getting snow packed around your throttle lever and activating TORS.

no codes at all - I talked with Troy (TJ's) and he is certain that the over the hood powder is blocking the vents and restricting air flow. He does have a vent kit that he does on the side panels to help. I am going to do the foam thing this weekend and see what happens. Thinking of doing my own venting if the foam thing doesn't work. Just to hard to get my sled to Troy and hopefully can save some $$. Where can I get the pre filter material?
Thanks

SLP sells the pre-filter material. Its high dollar stuff. I just did the air box mod to my sled and Now I'm going to silicone my stock wire screen piece into the bottom half of the air box. The Screen is good enough for me, just need to keep the pine needles out.

I did have pre-filter over my air box inlet and the problem is it stops the snow but does get iced over after a while and starts to choke out the sled. Eric
