things seem to go of the rails when the sensitive types try and jump in and defend everything that is blue". This adds nothing to a thread where someone is trying to explain what is their own very real problems or concerns. Everyone has their won expectations, more than half the guys riding couldn't or wouldn't notice the handling difference between a golf cart and a sled....nor do they care. I'm picky and have high expectations, although, it seems I'm a sucker for the marketing and hype sometimes.
I still love my Nytro, not perfect but its been worth the effort to make it everything I wanted.

My .02 is that most people that complain on this site are just frustrated owners who want their equipment to run as advertised. Don't get me wrong, I love my Nytro...but there are a few expensive and unexplainable issues it has when trying to live up to its potential.
To me, the darting, the worthless handwarmers, the skis, and finally the poor out of the box suspension, could frustrate a few people.

1. Darting "I understand Mr Sled has Able to Shim his Skis and get ride of the darting"
2. Hand warmers are a tough one. i had an 06 attack and my warmers where worthless. I think Yamaha is afraid to up the Amps on them because they want to have good voltage for the Fuel system.
3. The Skis have sucked for years. For what I've heard Yamaha doesn't want to run into a Lawsuit like Doo did when they had a ski that was a lot like a Simmons.
4. I was told by Mr sled that he road his Nytro once and hated it. He then pulled the manual and realized the Shocks where not set at the factory settings. He moved everything to where it was suppose to be and tweaked it slightly and loves the thing now.

One of my points exactly, poor dealer set up!!!
That being said, how come there is no communication from the YAMAHA reps at Hay Days to the Dealers or the people the dealers talk with. My dealer is totally blind and so is their YAMAHA rep!

I recognize the value in bringing issues related to our experience with our Yamaha sleds to this forum. I find a lot of what is discussed here very helpful. However, when these discussions spiral downward to let emotions and petty bitching take over the value is diminished. It has been my experience that a lot more can be accomplished when emotions are kept in-check and facts or rational opinions are used to drive to a solution.
Your dealer and Yamaha are far more appropriate venues if you’re looking to resolve some strong dissatisfaction with their product. If you think they are not responsive to handling your complaints directly, then how can you think their response will improve after an anonymous assault posted on this site?
If you’re looking to see if others have experienced and solved a particular problem then we’re all here to help – or can be.

Yamaha's reps that's I've met are a joke. I remember when the Vector came out. I Asked a Rep how you changed the oil knowing the filter was moved to the back of the motor and he said oh it's just like the RX-1.

The host(s) of the party are obligated to go from group to group to make sure that the guests are behaving appropriately. Although none of the guests are "forced" to listen to mind-numbing conversations, the hosts are. I can see where that would get tiring.

The only real way to avoid this is to (drum roll please....) DON'T BUY A FIRST YEAR SLED! Though probably not a popular comment with some on this thread....I think you guys that bought 08 models rolled the dice a bit as does anyone who buys a first year model. A lot of people have an absolute strict policy to not buy 1st year sleds for a damn good reason....the cost of ownership is always high and the resale is always low. It is nice to have the latest and greatest, but time marches on and in a matter of months the BS that comes with it outshines anything else.
It looks like Yamaha is contemplating their options, but I bet they won't do anything that costs them money. The snowmobile division VP is looking at the report that says he has to take a $XXXXXXX hit on his numbers to make good on this and it just won't happen....especially in these economic conditions.
I hope they fixed the issue because I'm planning on buying an XTX, but not until I read reports that confirm the improvements are there. I don't care if I have to wait until February, or even wait until next year. $10K is simply too much money to be putting out these days without knowing EXACTLY what your getting.
I sincerly wish the best of luck to those of you who are having problems....it must really suck.

I voiced my concerns to one of the reps at Haydays also. He said no fix will be coming for the hand warmers, seems that they don't feel there's a problem there. Also, mentioned lack of power available to feed hotter grips without running your battery down.
Told him of my bent front end issues - he said the dealer with have to submit a warranty claim, which Yamaha will review on a case by case basis. As long as there is no sign of impact damage (peeling paint was mentioned), then you would get a replacement 09 frame. He also showed me how the 09's frames were gusseted. No kit with 09 a-arms, etc will be offered.
He said to wait until mid Oct - when the dealers will have this info made available to them.
Almost forgot - Replacement ball joints were also said to be Mid October.

I will not remove a thread if you post problems.... if you break rules... yes it will be gone. We have users that have posted their complaints so many times that I am ready to pull my hair out (not much to pull).... its not fun reading that crap. Then they rant about how they are jumping ship.... fine GO!! Most of us have heard you so many times that it would be in the best interest of everyone if you did leave.... that's when I get mad and take the thread down.... its pointless at that point.
Trust me, I am for Yamaha hearing about the problems... we need issues resolved and better sleds built.... just don't be so redundant... it sounds like my son whining because he cant have his way!!! Talk to me some time face to face and you will know ... I AM WITH YOU on building a great sled.... even the best sled!!

Great post!
This is what I find usually starts a thread in the downhill direction. There is a fine line between discussing a problem and ranting about it.

How about a sticky at the top of the page for all users to see, then the threads will not keep showing up and the replies will not keep coming. How about a "known 2008 fx nytro problems" thread. All the info of what is going on with them and what is wrong with them can be edited by Mr.Sled and updated as fixes become available by him. New people get the info they are looking for and it keeps all these threads from being started.

How bout we start a reasonable thread that cant stay on topic without it going in the crapper and then just maybe we could get it right. Trust me... I can stick lots of thread and users still will post without research .. its only been that way over the last 10 years of me running forums.

"Did You Order The Code Red?" "I did the job that I felt was..." "DID YOU ORDER THE CODE RED!!???" "YOUR GOSHDARN RIGHT I DID!!" Arteeex this is like watching the movie a few good men! I believe this should be elected into the Totalyamaha hall of fame for one of the greatest thread responses ever! I have chills now.... Thank You!
Now, I have to go and show this to mother.....

I think we have however the cheerleaders always seem to say there is nothing wrong when we all know its obvious there is. Even Yamaha denies any problems as we have seen by the few guys whom spoke to the reps last winter. I myself can be blamed because I do let my emotions show, its very hard to keep from being angry when you were basically bent over.
