That is why many sled guys run the Holz system or a regulated Boss or Boondocker system.

You definately see preesure drop during a 10 second spray. Luckily, my system only needs 425 psi to get full shot. So, if I start out at 600psi or more, I can spray and not get any HP loss.

The pressure loss is exactly why I don't like a NOS or Cold Fusion system on a sled. They need full pressure to get full shot.

Last year I was racing in the winter and had to race three runs back to back. I was running an unregulated system and needed full pressure to get the full shot. Anyhow, my third run was really bad and I lost. I was running a 50 shot but probably only got about a 20 HP boost because my bottle pressure had dropped to about 400 psi. I had my heater on and it wasn't able to heat it quick enough because the runs were pretty much back to back.

The Holzman is a wet system I think. My Boondocker is dry. I'm not sure about the Boss.

I know that Glenn Hall ran a Boondocker 150 shot in his arctic cat for dyno testing at Dynotech Research. He basically had to run two systems because the solenoid and pressure regulator restricts the amount of nitrous that will flow.

I'll bet Holtzman can put together a 200HP kit.

Biggest problem with that size shot is you'll be spraying about 1lb every 5 seconds. You'll need a big #*$&@ bottle :-o

I don't see how you don't loose HP when your bottle pressure drops even if you have a pressure regulator with the Holtz, BOSS, or Boon systems.

If you are running the Boon dry kit that cuts or adds fuel based on bottle pressure then you will see more or less HP based on the pressure at the moment. Which means inconsistent power. If your bottle pressure drops below the regualtor setpoint then you will loose power also.

I haven't had a problem with my N.O.S. kit Not making good power. The only time it doesn't make power is when the bottle is empty. The diff in fuel jetting for a fogger kit between 900psi and 600psi is only a couple of thousanths which doesn't amount to a huge loss in power. As long as I have my heater on and give it a few minutes between runs, to warm up then I'm good to go.
 
Blown, Holtzman's nozzles spray at the MINIMUM all the time, hot or cold, low bottle or full bottle.

HOLTZMAN's nitrous sprayer is a valve, IT regulates the nitrous flow to that equivalent to 300psi bottle pressure.

I can attest to this being FACT, simply by the performance gains I get and my wideband reading approx 11.0 to 1 whenever I spray nitrous....very consistant.

I'm glad that his system works for you.

He doesn't have a lot of information on his web site. But to be honest I don't see how he can change nitrous delivery with an "adjustable nozzle" Yet you have to change the nozzle based on the HP level you want? Doesn't make sense.

Since he doesn't show pics of this patented nozzle on his web site, all it sounds like to me is he has a nozzle with a built in regulator set at 300psi and you change the nozzle( aka Jet) in grms based on the HP you want. Or it is very similar to the BOSS, or Boon Carb setup with a diff name.

It doesn't matter what it is called as long as it works right ;)!

I could run a reg with my N.O.S. system at 300psi without a bottle heater, all I would have to do is run a much larger nitrous jet in my nozzles, but I prefer to do it the other way.
 
You are correct Blown, each nozzle is a brass valve, I guess inside it is a regulator set at 300 psi and it then flows whatever grams it is drilled for. Mine being 15grams/sec.

Only adjustment is the fuel screw, which I have played with and found set at recommended settings is best, as leaning it out made me no faster.

That's the point of running the regulator. You only need 300 psi with the Holtz and 425 psi with mine for full power. As long as your bottle maintains at least that, you are o.k.

You are correct that you could just put bigger nozzles in and run a regulator. That is in fact how my set up was changed. Last year I ran unregulated system with small nozzles. My new set up is exactly the same except I have a regulator and big #*$&@ nozzles.
