i'll sell my 07 mtn lite... ~600 mtn/powder miles if anyone is interested

rest assured i won't by another yamaha

here is why:

* Reverse issues (major problems, dead button, issues in cold)
* Overheating
* Poor starting (this is starting to clear up)
* Exhaust bolts vibrating loose
* Delaminating bogie wheels
* A arm bolts loose
* crap badges and decals (lost on 2nd ride, yamaha wanst $26 for a new one)

JP , your small problems will get large on another brand !!!
ok,buy a doo and next year,you'll be the one getting towed by a yamaha.all sleds have issues no matter what brand,i just feel that yamaha have superior engines and that is the most critical part of a snowmachine.i have a phazer and didnt have one issue with it except for the ice build up that i fixed before i even put it on snow,cost me $8

thanks for double qouting that! haha
i'll probably keep my mtn lite, its a good sled. going to buy a widetrack polaris or artic cat for the super deep. i'm just frustrated at some of these issues and can deal with most of them except the reverse dead button. took it into the dealer yesterday and they experienced the problem first hand and they are calling yamaha. we'll see what happens.
my dealer colorado power sports has been pretty good and done great work.. i understand its a 1st year sled

don't be lame and brand bash. i've also been riding a '00 artic cat bearcat all year and the thing is bomber.. no problems, kills it in the pow and trail breaking. i've read of a few blown yam engines this year, everyone has their issues.

like i said, my major problem with the sled is the dead button problem and i hope yamaha is working on it.

just got a left throttle and bar hooks installed on my mtn lite which for mtn riding are much need additions. was expecting bar hooks after seeing them advertised on the brochures..

the complaint i have is the tunnel being opened and i'll close that, the phazer is a great machine, it's going to have a few minor things wrong with it, but after 1100 mi., it never once kept from riding, i keep it for a long time

your post made me realize something. the problems i've experienced are pretty minor except for the reverse.. 1st year things... and my mtn lite has NEVER kept me from a day out riding! i'm about to break 700 mile powder mark, just got the left throttle installed and the sled rides even better.

spoke to a tech at Yamaha regarding reverse and Yamaha is working on
a fix. He was straight up with me and a great guy, I feel a lot better about the situation and encourage owners to call yamaha with feedback, issues, or praise. Also, if you paid for YES warranty or your sled is on the stock warranty still -- make your dealer work for you!

Based on my conversation with a dealer tonight as well as the 08 line up, it looks to me like Yami is more interested in clearing the inventory pipeline than becoming the largest volume manufacturer.

And this is good.

Last year they were trying to cram close to 4 times as many sleds down the dealers throat as they are this year. There are a lot dealers in the market with significant 06 and 07 inventory out there on floor plan. All this is bad for the industry as if the dealers cant make money they go out of business. My local Yami/Doo dealer is gone and that sucks.

Looks to me like 09 will be the year of the Yami.
