This is what cable scratchers have done to my rails and why I’ll never mount any type of scratchers to my rails again.

I'm wondering if any type of scratcher will cause nicks in the rails. All the sleds I've used cable scratchers on did not have painted rails. Time will tell with the BRP tunnel scratchers.

I installed the cable scratchers that Mount on your A arms. They come with rubber hanger when not in use.

Im going to look for them also. I bought a pair of quick release brackets from Straight Line for my Apex. Ill have to modify the rubber inserts as they probit the bracket from going all around the tube. I like the quick release feature of them though.

Finished the season with the ski doo double spring rail mount scratches and no complaints, stay seated in hanger when not in use, no scratches on rails, work great.

Here is my setup on Sidewinder. I dont like drilling holes in rails when I dont have to. I got 2 pieces of aluminum and drilled holes and ran bolts thru the window cutouts in the rails, I glued rubber on the insides of the aluminum plates so no scratching on the rails could occur. I used Stainless washers on the bolts as spacers on between the plates to fill the void from the window. The stainless 1/4 inch eyebolts are thru the rails in existing holes in the rails. Originally the plates were orange but the paint peeled off. I guess I need to use Zinc Chromate on the aluminum before I paint the orange. This system has 4 years on it. In the stow position they have never come out of the eyebolt when under way. No issues bumping track. These are Duraflex scratchers.

Just an FYI to anyone installing scratchers. Just be mindful of clearance to other suspension parts, such as wheels, when the suspension is fully collapsed.

Travis at BOP has those same brackets that come with his scratchers when purchased from him, have them on my XTX and yes leave them deployed all the time other then going in and out of the trailer. Here is where I run mine. Made my own brackets. No drilling, bolt right on!

When my tips wore down I also did the fender washer, a lot cheaper then replacement tips and still does a great job.Actyally mine stay down all season!
Some guys have put a clip on the ski to hold them. No issues burning up the tip neither. My buddy took the carbide tips off an put a bolt with a fender washer an that works good too.
