My nytro hung with a 800ho shorty with clutch kit, and hygear custom suspension (all new shocks, everything). We were neck and neck till about 60 when he started pulling on me, I was even with his snow flap when we ran out of field and had to shut it down. Both were studded on hard, crusty snow. He was impressed, as was I, though we both know he'll take me top end in any race we care to have. I'm not sure whats going on with yours, or maybe you're just an absolute speed demon, but I've never had anyone describe this engine as anything but amazing.

I guess I can give this a shot! Many people that say they are aggressive riders just can't hang. I give you an example. We got to fields that were groomed and through (approx 3 sleds wide) and (2) guys from the group stopped to drag (which were talking smack about John and I's YAMAHAS) and I was behind them stopped. I said to myself IT'S ON LIKE DONKY KONG!!! They took off and I hammered the Nytro from behind. I could have stuffed both there snow flaps, Then I split them up the middle like MOSES parted the red sea!!!! Jumped out front and never let off the flipper Corner to corner speed is where it is at. I finally stopped. They caught up and said holy %&^*& what the hell is in that sled. Later on the lake (6) sleds flying with MSG accelerating on the powder (it was an awesome sight. The sled just floated and was eating my FX badly in the powder (2 ft). the XTX is an awesome machine!!!! where others let off due to the screwed up ICE Msg and I stayed on the flipper!! In the trails I was playing with A doo snow cross sled and it was very snappy, but I could out accelerate it and pass in the corners with ease. I believe MSG's post was written very well and he came from DOO. To hear someone raving about his sled and not to hear constant complaining which it seems that most people do on this sight is an eye opener. Not to float Yamaha's boat, but if you can't ride hard this sled is not for you period!!! I know we use a lot of body english in the corners and in the woops, but that is the style of riding we like best!! If you want a cruising sled, buy an APEX or a vector. If you like: beating a sled like a red headed step child the Nytro is the sled for you!!

This weekend told the XTX story for me. My rear suspension woes have been eliminated by switching to Ohlins. I have some more tweaking to do but I like the machine, finally. My wife????? She's 110# and a good rider. Her history is that with every new machine she gets she talks of missing her old one. Now that she's on the XTX she thinks she rode her old Polaris better. This weekend we did a few hundred miles of what you guys would call "boondocking". We just call it riding. She was on the rivers and through the woods at speeds she's never reached before. She ultimately scared herself when she hit a double creek and almost lost the sled, but she kept it upright even though her right knee was badly bruised by the reverse handle. Any sled is heavy when you weigh 110. She did well to hold on. On the way back to the cabin that night a friend wanted to try her sled and switched with her. She rode an '06 Renegade 600 home. This was trouble, I thought. I used to have a Renegade 600 and wifey liked it a lot. Once back at the cabin she couldn't get off the Renegade fast enough and proclaimed that she MUCH preferred her XTX. Whew! Now to find those knee pads we took out of her Klim pants!

Put on 290 km yesterday. Mostly on ungroomed trails and on fresh powder on lakes. Was loving the feeling on corners. On the worst trails I was especially happy I wasn't riding my Apex. I never take the Apex out anymore. I heard it mentioned above if your a cruser get an Apex. I don't agree. The Apex is a great open trail cruser but I think the Nytro is way more fun even on the big open trails. I rarely see over 100 MPH on a groomed trail.
On the freshly groomed trail the XTX was a dream. I never felt I wanted or was missing my Apex at anytime. I only felt sorry for my buddy driving his Apex through the tight and twisty's. LoL
No darting in fresh snow so the Yamaha was really shining yesterday. You get the right conditions and things are great! Love the sound of that motor through a MBRP pipe.
I came home last night and never felt like I was beat like I did after riding the Apex. My hands were freezing a few times and I had to stop to make fists so I don't mind hearing a few complainers. There the ones I credit on getting a better sled each year...
