Thanks for the heads up. I didn't hear anything like that. I wonder if there's a differance between the Nytro's wear and the Phazers wearing out?

Add more boogies to help hyfax wear. I agree Yamaha should address this but these are Easy fixes. I am good at easy fixes. little more difficult to rebuild an engine
How do you run 170 studs with no tunnel protectors? Am I missing something.
I cut my protectors from the middle brace to 3 inches from the rear brace. It cuts the ice build up from under my cherry bomb. I left the protectors up front to protect my header

i find doos 2-stroke reliability laughable.
my bro owns a 2000 srx700. after 7000 miles he talked to his dealer about if he should re-ring it. mike asks, is it smoking bad? my brother replies no, and mike says well then dont rebuild it. that motor is designed to go 20,000 before it needs a rebuild. all you need to do is clean the powervalves.
Nothing like a yami dealership where the owner is the sole mechanic. guy really knows his yamahas.
i never once worried about my old srx grenading.

You said $2000-$3000 on a motor rebuild every 4500 miles. (approximately) The Nytro motor is scheduled for a valve adjustment at 25000 miles.
25000 miles / 5000 miles = 5 rebuilds.
5 rebuilds x $2500 per rebuild = $12,500
That's considerably more then the $2000-$3000 you'll stick into upgrades on the Nytro.
Just my $.02 worth. Very possible I don't know what I am talking about though!!
..and how many owners do you know on here that hold on to their Yamaha sleds till they hit 25,000miles. I know of (2) that's it. Fact of the matter is all the brands have their pro's and con's but Yamaha has done nothing to excel and keep up with competition since the release of Apex in 2006.

I need to agree with that last statement....I have an Apex with 18000 on it but it will be on the block in the fall.... And the Nytro will be around for another year because I'll loose to much trading it..... I hope with some extra cash into it I will fall back in love but I'm doubtfull...BADSLED said:Bahr05 said:Here is my view point... This just pertains to the motors

I think I am falling into the flaws trap myself. I took my xtx for one more trip this weekend and I have yet to be "impressed" with the suspension. I have evol X shocks up front and I think they are great, but the rear thats another story. The trails were rough and all the thing did was kick the snot out of me. I tried adjusting it all over with some minor improvement but its just not winning me over. I rode a buddies 06 renegade and it seemed way better, I also rode a polaris rush adventure and that rear suspension was worlds better, and I mean worlds better. SO know I am torn, I love the idea of reliability especially as I was towing my other buddies rev 800 out because the crank locked up this year (top end last year). But I dont want to get beat up all the time, heck I dont even let people ride it as I am embaressd how it rides. So either I dump more money in it or cut my losses now and move onto something different
I love Yamaha, and am saddened like everyone else that they didnt come out with something hot and new. i really thought they would with the way the dealers around me are "blowing" them out I thought for sure a model change was coming.

Im sick of hearing everyone complaining. Yamaha has always pushed the bar when they needed to and they have drawn all of us in for the quality and reliability. Be patient

Unfortunately the quality and reliability were in there motors and most accepted the other drawbacks to have said motor reliability..... However I see the issue now being that the other company's have finally followed suit and are offering more reliable sleds. It would be great if Yamaha listened to its customers and addressed the other issues rather than offering band aid fixes (indestructible sliders, cheap duel keel skies), or assuming that the "reliability" of there motors will be enough to keep customers comming back. So not complaining so much as voicing the desire for Yamaha to continue to step up there game in the aggressive/crossover market. There power assist sterring was a wonderful thing for the touring line up. Now it's time to do something for the other riders. So if they have something up there sleeve lets hope to see it soon.
