This photo shows Yamaha's Genesis 120 snowmobile engine fastened to power an airplane.
If seeing is believing, then we have reason to believe that a pilot trusts the Yamaha Genesis 120 snowmobile engine to the point that it powers an airplane.
The photo clearly shows Yamaha's Genesis 120 carbureted engine installed on the Zenith company's Zodiac XL airplane

Wow, that's cool. Are there more pictures of this plane and motor somewhere? G.B.

what RPM would they turn a prop that size

The prop most likely wont turn much over 2500RPM. Notice the reduction drive for the prop.

If that was the fuel injected that would be a winning compo. Im just wondering how they are going to put a mixure control on that 120 for altitude and cruise? plus hope he doesnt pull negative G's for to long I remeber my 03 RX1 mtn coming off a cliff when the engine would cut out hahahaha.

But still this will beat the lycoming, or contental!!! I might have to use yamaha's 4 stroke if I very build an RV 6. :flag:

Remember Yamaha never had one of these motors fail in Canada the first year they come out.

They had 5 fail, according to the Ontario sales rep..
