Yamaha replaces 2017 APEX rear shock

Dose any one else have any feed back on updated shock yet ?

Well did a little more testing with replacement Shock seem to ride some what better but having trouble trying to get more air in the shock seem like I can not get more than 250 psi in the shock so I can not get the shock sag set right not be able to get over 250 psi any one got any idea why that would be
On the new updated air pressure pump that came with your 2016 Apex there is a adjustment on the pump that you can turn one setting is for volume air pumping second setting is for high pressure pumping you might be on the volume setting that's why you cannot achieve more than 250psi. hope this helps

I have not try it out after dealer gave me a different pump to try out my tommorow

The stock shock on my machine is very harsh i'm at 220 psi and its abit better but pounds your spine in the sharper bumps, the sag now is around 3" with me sitting on it but the skid does not bottom in the bigger bumps, less air in the shock would be to much sag more air would take my back out, i'm hoping you get the updated shock dialed in and it gives a better ride in the bumps, please keep me updated thanks

I got my shock on friday. I set it up with the instructions for weight sit is sag and set dampers about mid way.
The ride is so much better. Like it is suppose to be. I swapped with my friends 141 non coupled viper with the float3 front and back. His sled would hit the bump edges with more of a bang. I think I like my sleds ride a little better. But it still don't compare with the rmotion skidoo.

Thanks for the info, if you don't mind what is your weight and what pressure are you running in the updated shock. thanks

I weight about 210, I have 240 in the shock. I have a 129 skid, and the chart shows the 129 takes more air than the 146 for driver weight fro some reason.

My dealers rep told him that this updated shock would be to soft for heavier riders and would be better to stick with the stock shock, i'm 290 dressed, 2007APEX is 275 and is running 250psi he has not dialed his in yet but his machine rides much better already but has to much sag, i'm thinking I will get this upgraded shock you can pump this shock to 300psi I doubt I will have to put that much in it to get the sled to ride better without to much sag, anything would be better than what's on my sled now. thanks

Well did 300 kms today with shock pumped to 280 psi drove on all kinds of different trail condition from pounded out to to smooth as a highway and the shock performance is much better than the stock air shock going to play around with it some more to see how it changes ride quality

See attached picture they have change a lot on the update air shock and now has compression and rebound adjustments

How does the Elka stage 4 ride compared to stock? and if you don.t mind what is your weight, I was thinking about going this way if for some reason I can't get the updated shock or it does not work out. thanks
