I am wanting a 2up Venture sled for the wife and me. I think.... i am looking for an 07 - 12 year snowmobile. I had the 05 vector to which i had an issue with major darting and not overly happy with it. Any advice or opinions on what to be looking for or to stay away from? Non eps sleds vs eps? Is the steering that heavy without the eps? I am 200 lb and wife around 160ish....hope she never sees this. I am just looking for advice to assist in me getting a ride we will enjoy on the trails and not kill me at the end of the day.
 

12-13 is where the eps came in on those sleds. my brother has a 13 with it and we had to replace the skis to get it to turn right as it was pushing on every corner with the stock skis. we have his shimmed for darting fix and it handles great.

if your suspension is set right, a non eps sled will handle just as good as an eps sled but the ski pressure balance is more delicate for it to handle right. we run a a lot of ski pressure even on the non eps sleds.

brother is making noises about selling his, if you are interested shoot me a pm and i will forward you his contact info. he has 2 kids in hockey, so no time to sled.
 
My girlfriend has a RS Venture GT 12, it's a great sled, put the skis from my Sidewinder B-TX and now it rocks. I can recommend EPS, I would not go without it.
 
My wife drives our 15 Venture GT and really likes it. Just has the stock skis on it and handles fine with the rear suspension set as soft as it goes. There is also a lot of protection from the elements with that big windshield.
 
You could always get the 2020 Winder 2 up, you would have the fastest 2 up on the planet! Of course it comes at price, but hey you only live once!

The original Delta Box skids were terrible handling sleds with stock skis, and that is what led to the design of the dual keel Tuner. My 2011 Vector was horrible. I tried aftermarket dual keel skis, and they were better. When my buddy and I went riding in Quebec, every Yamaha Delta Box we saw had Snow Trackers, and we each bought a pair. They made the Vectors handle like they were on rails. My wife still has a 2013 Vector with EPS, equipped with Snow Trackers, and she loves it. With Trackers on a Venture, EPS might not be a necessity, but it would definitely add to your comfort/satisfaction level. If you are looking at a Venture equipped with Tuners, I would still get the Snow Trackers, they work great, even on Tuners.

Does she double up on it? I am curious as i will be getting out mostly with the wife and when i had my vector, it nearly killed me to steer it
 
My 09 has been updated with EPS. Am running Curves with 8" SlimJim Dooleys. I'm 300 lbs and have carried a 185 lb man through curvy wooded trails with no problem. He had a breakdown and I offered a ride back to the hotel. I ride this sled, an Apex with EPS, and a Nytro. The Venture is a true sleeper in the lineup when properly setup, just like the Vector. VERY warm, VERY smooth, VERY reliable. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend one.

What years were included under the original delta box skids?
 
I think the Delta Box started in 20o5? My understanding is that there was the original, then a II and a III, but the only real differences had to do with location of the steering posts? I am sure that there are some guys on here who could tell you the exact differences!

Delta Box 2003, DB II 2006 Apex DB III 2011 Apex correct me if I am wrong

She rides both alone and with a passenger. Sometimes my son comes along with her and they take turns driving and riding. If she gets cold in the back she will drive a while to get warm. Steers well with the power steering. When driving it alone it handles and rides very similar to my 14 Vector LTX with power steering I have. Rides even better with 2 people on it.
