I can tell you out west in the mountains, nothing 2 stroke naturally aspirrated in the 1000,cc class even with nitrous is even in the same mountain range with a turboed yamaha.

No comparison. I ride with a few m1's and they arnt even close when i was at 12lbs of boost, not that i have upted the anty its not even a comparison.

A poor running rx-1 on low boost will kill the f-1000.

arctic cats are direct drive so even though there 2 stroke they are still pretty slow

AC has diamond drive not direct drive it only replaces the chaincase the other makes uses to transmit power from the secondary to the drive shaft, the diamond drive eliminates the jackshaft tho.
2stroke engines are not necessarily fast just because they are 2strokes tho they can be.
Install a turbo in one of the recent 4 strokes and they go from beeing fast to become scary fast LOL

will him being turboed as will, and only running 8lbs, on the yamaha its going to come down to what boost he is running and you has the best set up. its really hard to say with out knowing all the information.

The site member Big Firecat has a modded F1000 that did extremely well at the Big Moose shoot out. If the F1000 is stock, you should be OK but if it is Big Firecat's F1000, then you are in trouble.
Guys, these big cats can be wicked fast running turbos. Keep in mind they are already starting with 15-20 HP more in stock form. I know that 1200 D&D Boobdocker turbo of Glen Halls is silly fast. The boys at D&D/Boondocker are getting it done and have turbos figured out for 2 strokes.
My guess is all things being equal relating to HP between the sleds, Id give the nod to the Cat. Just for the fact that he will be going up against a rear mount.

Better run the rear mount N2O system Freak used in his MCX powered RX-1 in the BIS a few years back
Guess that neither Big Firecat's or the 12kD&D are real trail sleds so we may have to up the 4stroke to a race turbo system to spank them 2smokers, the smokers are fast no doubt.

As mentioned before, those 1200s are wicked. Glen Halls may be the quickest full bodied sled in the country. He has gone against 400+ hp Yamahas and has won.
The race Id like to see would be Onestops Firecat/Yamaha vs. Glen Halls 1200. With onestops chassis, it would be a tough task for Glen. But I dont know of a quicker full factory chassis in the country.

As I said those smokers are no trail sleds and you will need a race turbo Yamaha to stand a chance, agreed the smokers are fast.
