yamaha1973's Garage

I was able to go pick up the 136" mono yesterday! Its out of an 06 so it needs some reinforcement but I only paid $275 for it. It has a re-valved shock, hygear springs and new wheels. :bling

Sad day guys... Sold the sled! :dunno:

For the little bit that I got to ride it, it was great! The 2014 Apex that ill be riding this year has some big shoes to fill! :yam:

Upgrade!! GL with the new sled, post up pics and updates to the new machine on here. Nothing like a little sled porn... :bling

Well after spending 500 miles on the Apex I found it to be a really nice sled, but not the right sled for my style of riding...

So today I signed the papers for a 2014 Viper XTX SE!

If anyone's looking for a good deal on a almost new Apex send me a PM.

Ill try and post up some pics in the next couple days.

Only was able to put 5 miles on today because of the white out conditions but all I can say is WOW! This sled feels great after only 5 miles! Cant wait to get some time on the sled this weekend, hoping to put a couple hundred miles on.

After 230 miles this weekend I am very impressed with the sled so far. Love the transfer and the ride is pretty good. Corners better than any sled I've driven, the uncoupled suspension is not an issue for me. Did notice some darting, probably going to try the staggered carbides or tuner skis.

The forecast looks good so the snow should stick around for at least another week. Probably be able to get 300+ miles on this weekend

200 more miles this weekend and can confidently say this is the best sled Ive ever owned! Handling and ride are awesome and it gets faster every time I hop on it.

Lined up against a Nytro and jumped to a 2-3 sled lead and kept it the whole race. On a flat, freshly groomed trail I saw 95 MPH on the speedo and I think it has a couple more left in it but ran out of room.

Cant wait to start bolting some accessories on.

Added a mid-height, tinted sport windshield. First time putting a taller windshield on one of my sleds! Also put my registration numbers on.

Starting to order a few more things.

Skinz Super Q muffler

Installed pics

A quick sound clip

Also installed the plug for my heated shield. Waiting for some other things to come in, Ill post pictures as soon as I get them installed.

Had some trouble last year hitting the switches when I would stand up, hopefully these fix that.

I also ordered a tunnel bag, cover, 8" riser, heated handlebar bag, and some clutch parts

Installed the Yamaha tunnel bag, part # SMA-8JP63-00-00

Have to drill 2 holes to mount these

Done

Very nice bag, should be able to fit a bunch of stuff in it

Did some more work on the sled this weekend.

Replaced the stock riser with this 8" riser.

The "deluxe" Yamaha cover.

It has the soft liner already sown into the inside of the cover. Something Yamaha should have picked up on years ago.

Installed a set of Woodys "Slim Jims". I went with 6" carbide

After putting on the riser I installed this SPI heated handlebar bag.

Comes with its own Y cable so you can also run your heated shield

Couple installed pics. Really like the idea of this bag, hopefully the concept works. Also cleans up the wires, throttle cable, and brake line nicely.

Still waiting on a couple clutch parts and snow!
